HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Kentucky High School’s 9th Region Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Tournament is set to return for another great week of action at The Bank of Kentucky Center.

 

 

The tournament runs March 1-7.

 

 

Advanced tickets are $6 for each day’s session, and will be $8 the day of the session (see schedule below).

 

 

Tickets will go on sale Friday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. and will be available at The Bank of Kentucky Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores, online at Ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at (800) 745-3000.

 

 

The tournament bracket drawing will take place on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. in The Vault Lounge at The Bank of Kentucky Center.

Monday, March 1 – Girls’ Quarterfinal

6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Tuesday, March 2 – Girls’ Quarterfinal

6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Thursday, March 4 – Boys’ Quarterfinal

Last year the BOK sold reserved seats to the 9th and 10th Region Tournament games. From the web site it appears the seating this year is general admission.

I just noticed that also. Last year a lot of folks complained about the seating arrangements, but I liked the fact that when I went to the games, I had my seat reserved and didn't have to arrive really early to get a good seat near the floor.

 

Why couldn't they have had the first eight to ten rows behind the press row/benches reserved and the rest General Admission. You could make all the reserved seating be part of a package, requiring you to purchase all of the Boys' games or all of the Girls games to get reserved seating.

 

I will, as I did last year, attend all the Boys games but it was great last year because I didn't have to arrive early to get a good seat, like I will have to this year.

I don't mind games being played on a Sunday...I just think the Finals would be better suited on a Saturday night.

 

How about this:

 

Sunday Feb. 29th

Girls Quarterfinals

Noon, 2:15, 4:30, 6:45

 

Monday, March 1st:

Boys quarterfinals

6:00, 8:00

 

Tuesday, March 2nd

Boys Quarterfinals

6:00, 8:00

 

Wednesday March 3rd

Girl Semi Finals

6:00, 8:00

 

Thursday March 4th

Boys Semi Finals

6:00, 8:00

 

Friday, March 5th

No games

 

Saturday March 6th

Girls Finals- 5:00

Boys Finals- 7:30

 

Essentially, you're basically pushing everything back a day and having the final on a Saturday evening, instead of Sunday afternoon. I think the attendance would be a lot higher if they had the games on a Saturday night, compared to a 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

 

You'd also only be renting the BOKC for 6 days, instead of 7.

 

But then again, my idea could be horrible and that's why they plan the dates and not me. :lol:

Shine All Night Tour: Martina McBride and Trace Adkins

 

While I am not a huge Country fan, my guess is McBride and Adkins will sell a lot of tickets at much more than six to eight dollars a seat! :idunno:

Take it back to the larger school gyms in NKY. Nothing can ever compare to the standing room only atmosphere on a Saturday night. Nothing ever stays the same.

No thanks and a couple of reason why:

 

1) Parking

2) Hot and sweaty gyms

3) Sitting on a hard wooden bench

4) Sitting on a hard plastic bench

5) One state Champion from all the years playing at HS gyms

6) Not a Neutral floor

7) Clearing the gym between games

8) Small HS floor

9) Small HS lockers

10 Standing room only and fans can and do get locked out

 

Well we did move from jump balls after each basket made but then again I guess we can go back to those day's too, if you want! :lol:

I really enjoyed the 10th region at the BOK last year. Wished it was there this year too.

Go to the BOKC ticket office anytime it is open. BTW it is open tomorrow Sunday 2/07 from 8:30 to around 3:30

I know there are a lot of country fans in the Greater Cincinnati/NKY area, but I honestly think the 9th region finals will attract more people than that concert. :sssh:

To bootleg theoldguy's point, ticket prices for the Martina McBride/Trace Adkins concert are $57.75, $47.75 & $37.75 versus $6.00 - $8.00 (day of the event) for the 9th Region finals.
