To bootleg theoldguy's point, ticket prices for the Martina McBride/Trace Adkins concert are $57.75, $47.75 & $37.75 versus $6.00 - $8.00 (day of the event) for the 9th Region finals.

 

I know...I was just saying I think that the 9th region finals will draw a bigger crowd.

 

What time is that concert that night? The boys finals won't start right at 3:00. Assuming the game and post game festivities are done by 5:30, that give BOKC roughly 2 hours to get the court up and set up for the concert.

 

Not a very good scheduling move by the BOKC, imo.

The Concert is on Sunday Feb 28th prior to the Monday March 1st start date of the 9th Region tourney.

 

You wanted to move the start date back to Sunday Feb 28 (their is no 29th this year) so you could end the tourney on a Saturday. See your own post #6!

I look forward to the tournament once again this year. I'm going to the McBride/Adkins concert on Feb 28 and I can almost guarantee that there will be more people there for the concert than the 9th Region finals. Nope. I will be doing PA as of right now. I've been told that whoever is the contact for the 9th Region folks says they're doing official stats, but I've not been told one way or the other if they have the proper stats program to have the stats show up on the scoreboard.

Wouldn't it make sense for someone from the NKU BB program to aid in this? We need to have the entire scoreboard lit, not just the clock and score. After all, isn't the 9th Region paying to use the arena? :idunno:

I know there are a lot of country fans in the Greater Cincinnati/NKY area, but I honestly think the 9th region finals will attract more people than that concert. :sssh:

 

Not that it matters, but the Ninth finals won't come close to the concert attendance.

I made the point last year that playing on a college court in an arena helps prepare your region teams for Rupp arena. (and look what the Bulldogs did!) The sight lines, court size, and arena make a big difference in preparing your team for Rupp. Now obviously the atmosphere is quite different than the state tournament but you get my point! I do like a packed house in a High School gym but I wish we would see more of that in the regular season. It just makes more sense to have it at the BOKC. Looking forward to it!

I do PA for soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball for NKU and have done some Bluegrass/Buckeye HS basketball events in the past but chose not to do so in order to have stats up on the side panels of the scoreboard.

Would love to know who is making these decisions. That is so "bush league" IMO. Afterall, this is 2010.

Stasman you need to find out which District is hosting, so we can ask them the questions to get this done.

 

BTW is the BOKC allowing the schools to Broadcast the games this season without St. E's or Griffin Industries paying a ton of money?
