:thumb: That is great news thanks for the update.

Thanks for the update Catbird. Do you know how he got hurt? I don't even remember seeing the play where he may have gotten injured.

The latest on Ben Watson is Xrays were negative. The doctor has ordered a couple days of physical therapy so he will not practice today or play tomorrow against Holy Cross. Should be back by Friday for Senior Night against Lloyd. Injury occurred early in the 4th when Ben pumped faked Avery off his feet and got fouled/chopped on his right arm and shoulder.

Nice to see that Steven Gordon contributed offensively in this game. He can do a lot of things well for a team. This is not the same team anyone expected from Highlands this year (injuries have changed who they are) I believe kids like Gordon and Corey Dill have to become bigger factors for this team to compete the rest of this season.

Gordon played very well for the Birds. He was aggressive taking the ball to the rim and also played good defense.

I think Gordon played very well and was instrumental in a couple of runs. It was nice to see him on the floor relaxed and just playing basketball. At times the offense looks very structured and they stand around and work the same picks. I think they played well; credit Holmes for just blistering the nets outside. It seemed like it was raining 3's.

I have to agree with Sticky on his points. I thought that if Highlands would have went man to man a little sooner this game might have been closer. Holmes was up 18 I believe, before the switch was made. Nice to see Gordon and Lother on the floor at the same time. IMO this makes the Birds much more effective in the offensive end. To answer your question Q about Smith Keller, not much of a factor because of who they were playing. He needs space to get his shot off and it was not going to happen last night. Holmes shot lights out in the first half and that was the difference. If these two meet again down the road I think the Birds might have a chance of knocking them off.

Are you kiddin me. If HHS would have gone man to man the entire game Holmes would have won by 40 and the janitor Stoeckle would have had to replace about 6 backboards. Nobody in NKY is going to go man to man with Holmes and perhaps the State. Waaaaay to many athletes on that team. The only team that beats Holmes this yr is Holmes. :thumb: 20n10

1st half HHS in a 2-3 zone :madman: Holmes 37 HHS 25

2nd half HHS man-to-man Highlands 33 Holmes 32 :idunno:

My fault. I didn't see "this."

Regardless, Dixie played Holmes man-to-man the entire game and it went to the wire. Is Dixie more athletic than Highlands?

I dont know. Havent seen Dixie this yr. You have been around the block a few times with these types of games. Iam not a hugh basketball guy. But I can certainly recogonize a very athletic team playing head games with a decent team on their home court to boot. When I was in college playing football, the big O and D line guys would go down to the 84 lumber on the weekends and there was a guy down there with a 400 lb bear. For 3 bucks you could get in the ring with the bear and wrestle him. Every time one of the bigger stronger guys would show a sign of taking control of the bear the bear would simply just slam the guy with a big paw and the match was over. Nobody was ever going to beat this bear. He was just playing with them and only trying as hard as he had to when necessary. IDK, I saw sorta the same thing the other night.:thumb:20n10
