Also, for the most part you have to take rankings with a grain of salt. Next season watch UF. They will get a commit from a guy that's a 3 star and a week or so later he gets another star added on. It caters to the better and bigger teams. Obviously UF gets higher regarded prospects, but at UK if they get a player who is an early commit he's not going to get the respect they deserve IMO if they are better than their ranking.

 

Star rankings just seem to be who you're being pursued by or who you commit to. The rankings also seem to change before signing day, so more people buy subscriptions. It's a business, they want to make money.

 

Either you trust the coaches evaluations or you don't. To me it seems like UK got some solid, SEC type players. Maybe they didn't get a Ronald Powell or Seantrel Henderson, but they're never going to get those kids.

 

I trust who all the kid has offers from, more than the star system. Unfortunately they usually go hand in hand. But I'd rather have a 3star that holds an offer from UF or Texas than a 4 star who has offers from Memphis and Southern Miss.

The thing about that is that offers are conditional for alot of players. A player may show an offer from UF, but in reality it may not be a possiblity for them to go there. Alot of schools extend offers with conditions, such as committing early, being able to early enroll, etc.

 

Teams like UK don't do it alot, but the bigger schools do. The reality is that UK isn't going to get a kid that UF wants. They may be able to steal players from some one like South Carolina or someone like that but why would a 3 star pick UK over Bama if they had the option?

Well then go after the kids that USC and the Miss. States of the world want. Go head to head, I honestly believe UK could win 70% of the time against schools like that.
