Can you explain the "20n10" bit? Am I just being dense? What does that mean?

 

If Highlands were to win in 2010, would that be their 20th title, i.e., "20 in (20)10?" (I don't have my stats in front of me, so I can't remember how many titles the Birds have won...)

Do you happen to know how often there were three ways in the other years of the decade?

 

And a 10% occurrence still seems fairly rare to me, but admittedly one could logically think 10% isn't rare.

 

Offhand, no, I don't know about the previous year. Truthfully, I don't know if last year was unusual or about normal.

I know at one point, and I am assuming it is still the case, the Harbin rating system took into consideration out of state opponents. If I am a Mason, Lakota, LaSalle type program that has a hard time making the playoffs in Ohio due to not enough points, I would try and schedule (and beat) Highlands and hope that is the only loss they have. [B]Great way to pick up alot of points! [/b]

 

As a fan, I would love to see all N Ky teams play at least one comparable team from across the river. Could be the Greater Cincinnati Championship Series. This sounds bigger than the Herbstreit!

 

Are you really thinking that your going to gain Harbin points by playing Highlands ? Does Mason , Lakota , or Laslle type teams beat the Cincy X type teams or even stay close to them on a regular basis? If I'm the Ohio coach trying to get Harbin points , I don't think I want any part of Highlands. You might be better off playing other NKY teams that are very good , but Hghlands no way. If they do schedule Highlands , they better bring some great athletes with tons of speed and talent. :laugh:

Highlands has 19 state titles right now. If they win state it will be 20. So, it will be there 20th title in the year 2010. (20 n 10)

I mentioned East Central playing Highlands a long time ago in a different thread . You are correct , they have great fans and a very good football team and program. It hasn't been too long ago , that they brought home a state championship trophy. (Indiana)

 

I believe they won the title way back in 1994 (good grief, I'm old). That team was absolutely loaded though and could have played and beaten anyone in Cincy/NKY.
