Walton-Verona will meet the 7th region winner, which will be either St. Francis or Brown, on Thursday morning at 10:30. Bearcats should be a prohibitive favorite in that game. A second round matchup would be against the winner of Campbellsville and Glasgow.

 

WV will play Brown who has a 4-11 record.

That is too bad. It was packed. Probably had more people in there than should have been. I wonder how many people were turned away? Do you think the schools with gyms who can not accomodate the crowd should not be hosting? Which school's could handle the crowd? Can you imagine if that game had been at Eminence.

Actually, I can imagine the game being at Eminence. In 2007, when Owen and Gallatin both had great teams, the tournament was held there. It was an electric atmosphere though.

Electric in that you could not move or see the game in some situations and that you had to pay for each game and had to clear the gym after the first game.

 

I bet some fire codes were broken at WV. I also feel bad because I know of several people who were turned away. I am not sure what they should do in a case like this. I know that it was only the final game that they had this issue with. Maybe that should be moved to a bigger gym in the future...although not fair to the schools with smaller gyms.

 

I hope WV represents the 8th well at state!

I told a friend of mine( a WV fan) that people would be turned away at the gate. He did not think that would be the case. If WV had sent the band home, they could have seated fifty to a hundred more people. It made for a great atmosphere. That being said, I as a Gallatin fan, can remember Gallatin not hosting a District tournament for 30 plus years due to lack of capacity.

I assume you mean "who"? They would be unhappy parents. You know, the typical stuff that comes with being a first year Coach at a new school. I think Coach Trame does a good job.

Gotcha. I did hear that one dad sits at the end opposite the bench and yells loudly at Coach Trame. That has to put his boy in a really comfortable spot.

Would not surprise me. Most parents should be seen, not heard.

I expect WV to represent the 8th well. They have a legit shot to make it to the Semifinals. Good luck to the Bearcats in Richmond.

I have been to a decent amount of WV games and I know which parent/boy your talking about. He is a great kid and to be honest the dad yells more at the kid than the coach and for the most part it is words of encouragement, he just happens to be very loud and it sometimes comes off as him yelling at his son.
