You may think that, but Elliott doesn't seem to have too many other shot options vs. Fairview, they are very long and contest alot of shots for the under 6 footers.

 

Elliott has several more shot options. Ison is 6'6", Nickell has been shooting over lot taller comp his whole career and so has Faulkner. Thats what coaches are for anyway is to get the short guys shots too with offensive plays.

What plays? Plays? Knipp just shot 1.25 shots per minute. There was no time to even run a play. I sure hope he played a full 32 minutes, if not that's shot per minute number is incredible.

I disagree. Ison yes. But against Fairview with a 6'6", 6'4", 6'5", and 6'2" out on the floor, tough looks for 5'8"s no matter what offensive sets you run. I do agree that they should have entered the ball into the post more often. I thought Ison played well and took good shots and used the glass very well. Fairview is just a bad matchup for Elliott, IMO. Of course we can lay it all at the feet of Timmy Knipp I suppose, that's easier.

I am about the same way because I feel for these kids. How much have these kids suffered in Elliott because of coaching (maybe state championship,couple more game won this year and I am sure down the road)? It makes me just hope that they can have fun and compete and go to the next level and maybe get taught the game of basketball.

You can run offensive sets for people and get them open if they are 3 ft tall. If your theory was true 5' 7"(cats pause height listing) Blake Bryan would not have led the state in scoring last year at 30.2 ppg. That also was in a lot more talented region with taller players than fairview has. Shots can be more distributed on any team regardless of height of opposition. That is my opinion!

Deja vu!! Like I stated before and you seem to be missing it....Good coaching can get you open looks regardless of height. If you dont believe that you havent paid any attention to all the games you ve watched. I have watched plenty of small and undertalented teams win ballgames because COACH makes them very patient in the offense and they get plenty of wide open looks and one guy isnt running down and launching it every time. As for the hand in the face most coaches set a screen or a double screen to get shooter open within his range. Believe me it happens all the time just not at Elliott.:thumb: As for Blake Bryan he is more talented than Cody and them but his opposition was way more talented than fairview also. He scored a lot because he had help(coach) in getting shots. I watched him play ....did you?

That's what the Fairview Radio guys said. I think Knipp has take 30+ shot 4 times this season and Elliott is 1-3.

 

Elliott Co. must have been playing tall teams!

Look, I'm a huge Elliott County fan, but 40 shots in a game is ridiculous. You'll never win a basketball game (a team sport) when you play 1 against 5.

 

The only conceivable way that a play can even get off 40 shots in a 32-minute game is that they were playing YMCA ball. There couldn't have possibly been any actual offensive sets or planning.
