It will be the death knell of many senators and representatives in 2010 if they do. If the people of MA, where democrats outnumber republicans 3-1, are a litmus test, they have voted in a republican. What will happen in the other blue states, much less the battle ground states. I would think that these politicians are smarter than that if they want to be re-elected. January 20, 201016 yr Obama is being rejected! It had nothing to do with Obama, when the polls show that he still very popular in Mass. This is rejection of the Democratic controlled Congress. This will be a good wake up call for the Democrats. Dems need to get their acts together.

Nevermind, I found it. Looks like his popularity is still way up there but support for his agenda has fallen off.

It may not be an indictment of his popularity, but it without a doubt has to do with the agenda he is attempting to get congress to push. I think this is a great bit of good fortune for the democrats actually. They now realize they better really buckle down in the next 6 months or else suffer large losses in November.
January 20, 201016 yr I wouldn't get too excited, Coakley was a miserable candidate and Brown is about as liberal of a Republican as you'll find. But this does put the Democrats' backs against the wall on healthcare.

This election should have been a layup and they blew it... Before the election was over, democrats were already playing the blame game, not exactly how you act when the polls are still open. They really dropped the ball on this one.

I've no idea how she managed to get the nomination. From my following of the race she seemed totally inept.
