So has there been any actual word on things from the NCC administration as far as who they're even considering? The clock is ticking on the winter/spring conditioning program for the Breds...

The winter/spring conditioning is in good hands. I have been told that it will be a couple of weeks, but no more. NewCath, if you look at their history, tend to promote coaches from within, so I don't see there being any major adjustments to the overall philosophy of the program.

As long as they have capable coaches for the position (which I believe is the case), I definitely think promoting from within is always the better option. I think it's just a better situation in general to have your head coach in on the winter program running things as head coach as early as possible.

I have heard that 3 were intreviewed and we could possibly hear an announcement on Tuesday Feb. 2nd. I'm not at liberty to mention any names.

After hearing coach Schneider on ICN 6 my guess is that they will pick a person that has come from that school. Eviston and Wagner are both the front running candidates. Borchers has told me he couldn't turn down the Cooper money and has a great situation to make that program work.

Wagner would have to leave a much higher paying County position to take the job, but in typical NC fashion I'm sure he would make the sacrifice for the good of the school. Typical of a New Cath grad and the Wagner family.

Mr. Schneider was never in charge of the offseason conditioning. He was in charge of the preseason running program. That may have changed over the past few years.

Wow, really? I never knew that. So who was running the show then?

When I was there Mr. Wolfe and Dave Schneider. Mr. Schneider was there, but he left it to those guys to run the show. As far as I know, it stayed like that. I'm all about the Head Coach being visible, I just don't believe that he needs to be the head of every facet of the team. If an assistant has more knowledge about conditioning and lifting, a head coach's job is to organize the schedule and make sure that players who don't attend understand the ramifications. In college, Coach Perry used to come down to bench every once in awhile w/ us, but other than that our strength coordinator was the head coach in that regard. What he said went, and any breaking of the rules was handled by Coach Perry.
