A very impressive award for an all-around good kid. His senior year should be fun to watch.:thumb:

It should be. He is going to have one heck of an off season. This kid is working his tail off. Lamar Dawson deserves all the recognition. :ylsuper:

I agree with you Rebel. This kid is really smart also. Don't be surprised if a to see schools like Stanford, Harvard or schools like that to offer Lamar. They say he has a great GPA.:thumb:

Lamar has more offers. Stanford and Texas Tech has joined Kentucky, Louisville, and Cincinnatti with offers.

Texas Tech's and Boyle County's Neil Brown is recuiting Lamar. Neil and Chuck Smith going head to head on this one!

With interest still from Notre Dame.

Per Steve Hare - IrishIllustrated.com

Last fall Lamar Dawson visited Notre Dame for the Irish's game against Southern Cal. Even after the coaching change, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker from Danville, Ky., remains on the Irish's recruiting radar.

That's great news for a great player. He deserves all of the attention that he is getting. :thumb:

Estimating I'd say about 6'4" and 225-230 at the present time. He's only 16 so who knows where he'll end up.

I saw Dawson in the stands at a recent Garrard/Boyle baseball game and was amazed at how much it seems like he has grown since football season ended. And only 16!

Unless he is lying on his facebook page I believe he is 17 and turned 17 in late September or early October. I can tell you for sure when I get home from work.

September 22, 1992 is what he has on his facebook page.

Congrats Lamar on your State Championship today in the KHSAA Track and Field 2A shot put!:clap::clap:

Congrats to Lamar Dawson and his family on a great reward.

You can now add the University of Southern California to his list of offers.

USC Targets Bluegrass Backer06/03/2010 USCFootball.com

Danville (Ky.) four-star linebacker Lamar Dawson is a winner on the field and in the class room. Boasting a 3.8 GPA, Dawson helped Boyle County to a 15-0 record and a state title last season. His current make-up as a student-athlete is reflected in his requirements in a college

Advocate article from today's newspaper.

The star linebacker recently received a scholarship offer from Southern California, which visited last week, and he had added an offer from Tennessee, too.

“We are lucky he is even here. How many other kids would get distracted with all the national attention he’s getting, and deserves?” Garrett said. “But when USC came to watch him work out, he came over first and did his track workout with me to make sure he kept his mind right. Then he went and worked out so well for them that when they showed the linebacker coach the video back at USC, he was really impressed.

Dawson seems like a sick football player. Looks like he has all kinds of great offers, they don't get any better than USC or UF.
