Princeton is #1 in Cincinnati, #36 nationally by ESPN Rise, and State Runner up in Ohio D-1 last season.

It was said during the broadcast that the student body from Princeton was handling the bulk of the production for the broadcast. The school has a program for kids that want to go into that field. I agree, there were lapses, but overall I thought it was ok considering high school students were working the production.

 

The student production crew at Princeton does a very good job considering their limited experience. The only major flaw that got to me was with the announce crew. They were so busy resetting stats in OT they totally missed Siebert fouling out, and then never even realized he wasn't on the court for the final 3 plus minutes. Huge blunder...

Gotcha. So the clock didn't run at all while the ball was live. Ran down 3 seconds after the whistle.

 

Obviously, the clock can't run after the whistle so it has to go back to where it was. The officials can't estimate (by rule). There has to be definite knowledge. So, for example, had they known that 1:18 was on the clock when the play started and the trail official had counted to 7 on the 10-second count and THEN realized the clock hadn't started they could bring it down 7 seconds. However, if they did not know where it should be it stays at 1:18.

Just watched it again. Clock didn't start at 1:18. Ricardo went up the floor drove to the whole and scored with a foul. The clock then started to run to 1:15 after the whistle, like the scorer was trying to make up for the mistake. Then it stopped. Then they put 1:18 back on the clock when Ricardo went to the line.

 

I checked counted 8secs ran off from the time Ricardo got the ball till the time the foul was called.

 

Either way I don't think it was the problem for Princeton. They got careless and threw the ball away way to often. They let Holmes hang around. Missed a lot of free throws and barely snuck away with a win.

 

Good game by both teams.

I don't if I realized or was just reminded tonight of how great Ricardo Johnson is. He is well deserving of his D-1 scholarship. But if anything he should be going to a higher level school than OHIO U.

 

Between him and Seibert, I was more impressed with Rico. His clutch shooting. His outside shooting. His driving to the basket. His defense. Almost every aspect of his game tonight was better than one of the nations best.

 

Now I understand Seibert had a tough game last night also and could have been a bit tired. But Ricardo play calm. Seibert seemed to rush his shots. Seiberts seemed to rely on the 3pt shot when he was in trouble.

 

Ricardo showed tonight, why he will win Mr Basketball and why he has led this Holmes team to 2 straight State Finals and 1 championship.

huge blunder, but I've heard worse commentary in the past during regional and district games. hahaha!!! just kidding!

Number of fouls were even as well, its just how they were coming, Princeton getting to the rim and getting fouled and Holmes dribbling 30 feet from the rim looking for a jumpshot getting fouled.

AGREE 110%, not knocking Siebert at all, but these 2 put on a show tonight and I think Ric got the better even though his team fell short on the scoreboard. And I know the type of kid ric is he would trade every basket he scored tonight in for a W, but it is what it is.

Either way it went, OT with clock malfunction or in regulation, Holmes lost by 3. Bringing up that 8 seconds or so, over and over takes away from the show we got from Holmes and Princeton tonight.
