January 4, 201016 yr If Paul Bryant can't get the needed support from the administration for the football program, then nobody can. Sad, but probably true. That was nearly 60 years ago and I guess still no progress towards equality.
January 4, 201016 yr If Paul Bryant can't get the needed support from the administration for the football program, then nobody can. Bear wasn't the 'hot commodity' when he took over the UK football program. He is more legendary for what he did after he left UK. UK is just a footnote in the history of this truly legendary coach. I think they are getting more support than they used to, but still not on a level playing field with the rest of the SEC and in the northernmost conference school where weather is more of an issue late season than anywhere else in the conference. Brooks knows what needs to be in place for the long term success of the program, ... been there, done that. I just hope they can come to terms and Brooks is back for at least 1 more year IF that is what he wants. I have a feeling he wants to get over the hump and beat SC and UT before he leaves. I hope he does!!!

Even at 68 years old, this is the fella we want in our fox hole to fight against the big boys in this conference.
January 4, 201016 yr Larry Vaught is saying it's official, he's retiring. Joker will be at press conference.
