Good point, I had forgotten about Campassi. I will give you that one. He played at a very high level and did quite well.

Both Hall and Riddle are similar in that they lead with their effort. FC and WHHS will definately meet once more on the hardwood and possibly a 4th time in District. Hills obviously had a good game plan last Saturday. It will be intersting to see what adjustments each team makes in the 3rd and possibly the 4th meeting.

 

The rivalry will them carry over to the baseball diamond. Rumours are that Hall may come out for baseball.

Hall also got involved on the tennis circuit this summer and was pretty good I must say. Hall is a great athlete.

I agree. Heck, he was a good football player when he was very young too.

I don't know Glen that well. I would agree that Roni and Byron had great potential but honestly did either of them play athletics at a high college level? You have to ask why?

 

Vance and JT both get it done on the court, in the classroom and in the community thus the reason for my statement. Both of these guys are quality young men who will far exceed those that went before them because of that.

 

You arent talking about playing at a high college level you are talking about an athlete coming from Frankfort. Now, what happened with Roni and Byron is a sad situation but doesnt taint any of their athletic ability.

I agree they were sad situations, but then we simply disagree. I believe that for an athlete to be great they need three things:

1. NaturalTalent

2. Character

3. Passion

 

The other two were lacking in some of those areas where JT and Vance are not.

These are qualities of a role model, not a great athlete. Look at D. Cousins at UK. No one can argue the kind of athlete or ability he has, but the character issue is obviously a little sketchy. That doesn't make him any less of a great athlete, but calls into question whether you want your child following his lead.

I disagree to be great you have to do something besides just play in high school. You can go into any town in America and find someone who had potential and simply didn't use it.

 

My original point was Riddle could be the best athlete to come through Frankfort.

 

to explain this "could' infers that he still has many experiences left so he has the chance to be the best, not that he already is.

 

"through" means that he will likely not end his athletic career in Frankfort as the other two did.
