Oak Hill Academy in Ironton December 21 and 22nd

Featured Replies

2009 Ironton Classic will feature Oak Hill Academy playing on both nights. Both days will feature 4 games starting at 3PM. Tickets are $8 per day and that gets you all 4 games.

Oak Hills Academy plays Walnut ridge from Columbus on day one and they will play Cincinnati Princeton on Day 2.

Tickets on sale at Bob Linns Sporting Goods starting friday. Get tickets early, big crowds expected both days.

Wow. Sounds like a great tournament. What other teams are in the tournament? Who is sponsoring this tournament? I know it must have taken some big bucks to get teams like Oak Hill and Cincinnati Princeton to come.

If you have never seen Oak Hill play, I highly recommend it. I saw them play in December of 2001 with Carmello Anthony and Justin Gray. Heck of a show they put on.

Where is the tournament played at?

Games played at Conley Sports Center. Pretty good size venue for a tournament like this.

I hate that the KHSAA passed that rule forbidding member schools from playing against Oak Hill and others like them. Back in the day you could count on Oak Hill playing 5-6 games per season in Kentucky, and it was always great gate for the schools hosting them (and taking the brutal butt-whoopin's).

Can you give me directions from NKY, would like to attend but I have no clue where this place is.

Ironton, OH is across the river from Ashland, KY I believe--Straight down AA highway from NKY.

Directions:

Take the AA Highway east to where it ends. Continue straight & go across the bridge on the dam. Take the exit to Ironton, OH on Rt. 52. Continue east to the exit for Ironton High School/Ohio University. Go right at light, left at flashing light, another left at next flashing light. Conley center on the left.

There you go, hope to see you there.

I assume they did that because Oak Hill recruits and doesn't play for a state championship?

Cincinnati Princeton-Oak Hill should be an exciting game.

Princeton features top 50 prospect, Jordan Sibert, who is a 4 star Ohio St commit.

Can't wait to see Princeton come to NKY Jan. 2 to play at Holmes.

I understand why the KHSAA did it; just wish it hadn't.

I agree. I'd really like to see Kentucky's top teams play Oak Hill on a regular basis.

Anyone go to the game last night?

Did not go but here the scores from the two big games.

Oak Hill Academy 87-Walnut Ridge 56

Cincinnati Princeton 84- Campbell Memorial 69
