February 1, 201016 yr If a school joined would they rename the Conference? Do they have 10 teams now???

February 1, 201016 yr I think it should be a mid-west school that gets added if there is a change. Adding Pitt makes no sense when you think about it like that IMO. It's like Marquette and DePaul being in the Big East-Marquette's in Wisconsin, and DePaul is in Chicago. Neither Wisconsin nor Chicago are exactly "east" it's kind of dumb IMO.

Penn State is in the Big 10... Pittsburgh is right on the Ohio/PA border.
February 2, 201016 yr Penn State is in the Big 10... Pittsburgh is right on the Ohio/PA border. And that addition doesn't really make sense to me either. The Big 10 has always been a predominately mid-west conference, I don't see why you would add a team that is east of Ohio.

The Big 10 has always been a predominately mid-west conference, I don't see why you would add a team that is east of Ohio. Why? It is in between Ohio and where Penn State is located. Certainly closer than the likes of Rutgers.
February 2, 201016 yr Having spent time on several of Pittsburgh's boards, the fans have been whining for this since Miami, VT, and BC left. I get the impression, most feel it beneath them to have to compete with the likes of Louisville, Cincinnati, and USF. Funny, given the fact that they haven't won the conference title since those schools joined.
