BGP 12/9 Rankings

Featured Replies

Hey Ryle Fans, I am tired of hearing Ryle didn't use any sets against Marion. What makes you think Marion run any of theirs? The day is coming Ryle to see where you stand. The countdown begins.:ohbrother::ohbrother:

This. Seriously. Marion is better then Ryle and Ryle can't deal with that for some reason. You better watch out, because if Marion thinks they have good reason they'll run you straight out of the gym.

Rankings are not a exact science. Especially this early in the season. I would look for Butler to fall alot after their start. Truth is this, the top 5-7 girls teams are very easy to pick, but after that you have 10-25 teams that could beat anyone on a given night. After a month of so of games and the Christmas tourneys, the teams get to play some tough games and you start to see the rankings take much better shape. The good teams that are contenders are at the top, and they know it. The 7-25 teams always want more respect and fans complain. Here is how you get respect, beat the top teams and I promise you that every newspaper and message board rankings gurus will see you and you will be happy.

Sounds like they could do that to alot of teams. It might be good to get humbled now and then. Being ranked would be nice, but Ryle needs to worry about their district games for seeding. They're in a 4 team district and the region champ has come out of their district 3 of the last 4 years. They will have to play regional caliber games just to get to the region. I'd say they have their hands full as it is.

Ryle has been the talk of a lot of these threads. I'd like to see them play someone first. The Marian game will be interesting. If Ryle can beat them, then you should be complaing about not being on the state rankings. As far Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violation Boone goes, I can see why they have dropped. They lost to CAL (#2) by 20+ points. IMO Highlands should be in there before SK any day. Yes, SK has made plenty of good runs in the past, but it's this year, and things aren't looking as good as they were in the past. Iroquois won the state last year, they aren't ranked. Also, it doesn't matter whether the team is more talented or "better" then their oponent, it's who plays the best defense, the hardest, and with the best team chemistry at the right times and throughout the game. But, who cares about the rankings now, like GFYBS said, the season starts in February.

Should be a great game.

Could be, but I doubt it. Ryle will suprise a lot of people this year.

I can't understand how Ryle or Highlands can be overlooked. Ryle beat Butler by 30 in a pre season game and lost to Marion County by 11 without playing any of their regular sets.

Why would you play a pre-season scrimmage and not run your "regular sets?"

That does not make any sense. So what if you play that team later in the year, it is not like they are in your district or region.

When they play a regular season district game will they run their regular sets? I mean why not just save them for the district tournaments?
