That is an awesome backfield but it is ridiculous to think that d'vontae Bradley is not on the first or second team. He deserves this award as much as anyone!!! Anyway, congrats to everyone

 

I agree, the kid worked hard with what they have at Cooper in young talent. Put him behind a Highlands or Simon Kenton O-line and he would do just as well if not better than their backs. This is exactly what I mean by this association not having a clue about true talent.

Perhaps he would, perhaps he wouldn't. It's impossible to know. But what the coaches do know for certain is that those that did run behind those lines did definitely shine.

Simpson and Collinsworth are both excellent athletes and deserve every accolade thrown at them. Question is would they be as noticeable in a fairly new program like Cooper. A great line can make any half decent back shine.

A valid question but you might want to use someone else as an example since those two are both major D1 prospects. They'd be noticed anywhere they played.

Bradley suprised a whole lot of people and i'm sure impressed many HS and College coaches. Finally, an athlete who realizes that being 6'0" tall and 190 pounds, translates to a football player not a basketball star. Maybe if AAU coaches werent pushing basketball on this kid his whole life, he would have made a name for himself sooner. Leave Bball to the 6-5 to 6-7 kids...wait those kids can play football too! :sssh:

 

We can blame our own Commonwealth for hyping up the sport of basketball from birth. There are so many potentially great football players, glued to the basketball court...it is unfortunate. Remember the days when Lorenzen and Smith terrorized the court and field. That is fun to watch, not some skinny 6-4 kid hoisting up threes but can't post up...thats another discussion obviously. But D'vontae Bradley had a great seasopn and will be a first or second team All NKY RB next year, for certain.
