I think the "strong interest from other teams" says otherwise.

 

They aren't going to trade him if they have to eat most of his contract. The whole point of trading him would be to either gain a big bat, or lose his contract to sign a big bat.

The interestcoming for Lowe is because he is durable and can pitch a lot of innings. He ha a subpar season but still fared okay. Most teams that have interest are in on him because he will be a much cheaper option than John Lackey.

Where are you getting this stuff? Lowe is owed $45 million over the next three years. He ain't much cheaper than anyone.

But the Braves remain confident that they'll be able to deal Lowe, and part of their reasoning is based on the fact that his history provides reason to argue he could be every bit as attractive as Lackey, who stands as this year's top free-agent starting pitcher.

 

Some clubs have provided indication that they share this opinion. One American League scout told a Braves scout Sunday night that because of the small dimensions at his club's ballpark, they have interest in Lowe, who induced the third-most ground balls (389) in the National League this past season.

 

Without providing specifics, the Braves contend that multiple clubs have continued to show interest in the possibility of dealing for Lowe.

Wolf had a much better year, too, and the Brewers are desperate for pitching.

 

Actually, compare Wolf's 2009 season with the Dodgers with Lowe's 2008 campaign there. The numbers (IP, ERA, other stats) are pretty similar.

Jackson did not play for the Yanks, and Kennedy is ok at best.
