Beechwood 2010

Featured Replies

Well, Highlands started a thread. We don't want to be left out.

How will Beechwood look in 2010? Will it be Davis or Colosimo at QB? I would say Vocke will be the feature back. Adams has been the center for the last 2 years, I would say he is a lock there. Who else on the line?

Defense will have Staten at Middle linebacker, I would guess at this point the other two will be max nussbaum and jake kremer. What about the rest of the defense?

There are a lot of juniors to fill spots...VOA....lets hear your voice!

WOW! Sounds like a lot of holes to fill. Is Beechwood going to have a lot of underclassmen playing? Seems like they were pretty young or at least the "better" players were underclassmen. I'm guessing that is why they struggled this year per their own standards.

From past experience of watching teams, most successful ones are the ones that have a great supporting casts for the Senior group. Unless you have numbers and depth like St. X and Trinity, it's very hard to relay on just seniors and a few Juniors. You will always have to have a great supporting cast to compete and win a State title IMO.

With that said, didn't Beechwood struggle at the Freshman and JV levels. What looks to be different next year for some to say they will beat the likes of HHS the next two years? I think someone said "mark it down" or something like that.

In my opinion, I feel it will be a little like this season trying to find what kid at what position works best. I think you are probably correct with these kids at the positions you already have listed. As far as Davis or Colosimo, I think it will be Colosimo. He has paid his dues with two years of JV. Not to take any thing away from Davis, but that is my opinion of the situation. I think that the Freshman Gage Erdman, will probably have a starting role somewhere, just not sure where. There are going to be alot of current Sophmores that are going to be tested at the O and D lines that had pretty good growth spurts this year, as the same for wide recievers, and the D-backs. As someone stated in another thread, there may be enough O and D linemen to go one way. My biggest hope is that Zac Larimore will come back healthy if at all.

I don't know why, but I thought he was older than a Freshman. Maybe not! How did he do last year?

They will be better than they were in 09'.

Gage is a current Freshman. I did not get to see any Freshman games only was told how they played. And I was told that he and Max Nussbaum usually had great games.

However, I did see all of the Varsity games and those two did a fine job when they were in the game.

I heard that Gage was also a Quarterback when he was a Spartan. Maybe the tigers will have another great running QB like Rigdon in a few years. I cannot wait for Aug. 2010 to get hear.

I am afraid that with Colisimo playing baseball all summer long and Davis being at football, that may put Davis in the lead when the season starts. Davis has a nice touch; Colisimo has a stronger arm. I guess time will tell.

So you really think that Coach Rash will not start the Senior and his last name is Colisimo to top it off?

And Davis has decided to play Basketball this winter. That hurts when lifting and conditioning comes around in Jan.

IMO Colosimio is miles ahead of Davis at QB. Davis was good in Freshmen and JV not great. Both of these were run first offenses much like varsity and I just think Colosimio fits better.

Is Crane still on the team? He was a monster as a freshman and at that time I thought he would be a top player by his junior/senior year.

The BGP Staff will be starting the team threads for the 2010 season after the first of the year.
