2. Visit the Don F. Pratt Museum.

You'll need the visitors pass to get on post though. This museum showcases the history of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). From it's activation to it's latest "Rendezvous with Destiny" in the Global War on Terror. I wasn't able to be at the game last year, but from what I was told, MC fans were great folks. Showing signs of support for the military and going out of their way to talk to a few players and the FC Falcon parents. I think that seeing the museum would be a great addition to your trip down here.

One more thing, the museum is free of charge!

I'm curious about this statement, the one above, in bold.

How many key players from last year did MC lose? Was it a significant amount? They made it this far last year and if they didn't lose much(in the way of last years key players), how much more have they achieved above everyone's expectations?

Monroe only had 4 starters back on offense and 5 starters back on defense from last season. Kendall and Wilson were 2 big guns from last year but had to replace a lot of other key players.

Thanks for the info, now I see why they've done more than what was expected of them.

The offensive line is made up of majority juniors. We lost the golden class last year but IMO this was the most dangerous class with the major athleticism. The juniors coming up are followed by a huge and talented freshman class....so who knows...maybe these two years have set the bar for Roe Co's football program!!! I surely do hope so!!! Remember, just little over 500 kids in high school, 76 dress for football!!!!

Will have 8 starters back on offense and 3 on defense but have a fine freshman class and other underclassmen who should help next years team. Think Monroe Co. will be a factor in 2A for the next few years.

Coach Pettet is without a doubt one of the top coaches in the state that many have surprisingly never heard of. MC went 2 - 9 in 2007, and then reached the Semi-Final the next two seasons. It sounds like the coach and MC football are now just reloading each year instead of rebuilding. I thought their accomplishments last year were the biggest news in Kentucky High School football. As long as they can keep the coach in Tompkinsville, we will probably be hearing a lot more from MC in the future.

Does Monroe have a chance?

Nobody around FC is looking past Monroe County; they played us extremely tough last year in Tompkinsville.

I know everyone says that any given team on any given friday night has a chance...but I am here to tell you this will not be a blow out and this will be four quarters of tough football. Is Monroe as good as Fc, that remains to be seen, but these kids are playing for school history, not maintaining the title. This in my opinion gives these kids a little edge on relaxing and playing their game. And let me tell you, their game is top notch with many very exciting playmakers on the field at all times. I don't feel we have as many weapons as Fc, but we are what is called the underdog!!!! Mc has flown under the radar all season and plan on giving Fc all they want. My family is proud to be playing Fc and look forward to playing a program with great athletes, coaches, and fans!!!!! This is a program and communtiy that a lot in the state could learn from. :thumb:

Agree with this all the way. Our boys will be ready and will play hard for 4 quarters. After thinking about it I was wrong on an eariler Quote. We only had 2 starters on O coming back Wilson and Kendall plus they started on D with Proctor, Witty, and Wyatt.

I wish I could go to the game in Clarkesville , TN. I like to see how fast Kendall can run on the turf grass surface. I know the team is fired up about the opportunity to play on the Austin Peay field. Monroe will be dangerous on this type of turf.

I'm not very worried about keeping him in Tompkinsville his family and the beautiful new home he just finished will do that, I am however worried about keeping him on the sideline. Being a great coach requires a lot more effort than being a bad/average coach and I know that effort has to be tough on family life, I hope he can keep everything in balance and coach the Falcons for at least 20 more. I will add this, I think sometimes John is taken for granted because he is a local, I don't know how much power John has over the program but it needs to be 100%...
