November 13, 200916 yr LeBron said last night that next year he will be changing his number, and he is going to ask other players in the NBA to change if they wear #23 as well. Says that no one should wear it as a tribute to Jordan. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4650907 Thoughts?
November 13, 200916 yr I am fine with LeBron changing his to honor MJ, but it is not his place to lead a league wide policy against the number.
November 13, 200916 yr I am fine with LeBron changing his to honor MJ, but it is not his place to lead a league wide policy against the number. Lebron can do what he wants. He is the most physically gifted athlete in the world, and is single-handedly keeping the NBA afloat. It is his place.
November 13, 200916 yr Lebron can do what he wants. He is the most physically gifted athlete in the world, and is single-handedly keeping the NBA afloat. It is his place. Right....

November 13, 200916 yr Right.... What part did you not like? The fact that he is the most gifted athlete in the world? No, because he is. The fact that he is keeping NBA fan interest up in the league because of his tremendous ability?? No, because he is. He can do what he wants/
November 13, 200916 yr        What would the NBA be like without Lebron James......Think about it.
November 13, 200916 yr What would the NBA be like without Lebron James......Think about it. There are stars throughout the league everywhere you look.
November 13, 200916 yr There are stars throughout the league everywhere you look. There is nobody in the league that carries the same kind of star power as Lebron.
November 13, 200916 yr There is nobody in the league that carries the same kind of star power as Lebron. Hmm I would say Kobe does. He is always at the top of jersey sales. The NBA today without LeBron is still flourishing.
November 13, 200916 yr I quit watching after MJ left the Bulls and didn't start casually watching till last year because of Lebron
November 13, 200916 yr Author LeBron does make the league more interesting. He certainly isn't the only star in the league, but he is one of the few marquee names in the league. Kobe is similar, but I think the casual fan would rather watch LeBron. I don't think he makes the league what it is, but he does add alot to it. Kobe-DWade is a good argument, but wouldn't get as much attraction as LeBron v. Kobe, or even the future of LeBron vs. DWade or maybe Melo.
November 13, 200916 yr I am fine with LeBron changing his to honor MJ, but it is not his place to lead a league wide policy against the number. :thumb: Exactly my opinion. How arrogant is LeBron James?
November 13, 200916 yr Lebron can do what he wants. He is the most physically gifted athlete in the world, and is single-handedly keeping the NBA afloat. It is his place. He's not even the best player in the NBA. See: Kobe Bryant.
November 13, 200916 yr What part did you not like? The fact that he is the most gifted athlete in the world? No, because he is. The fact that he is keeping NBA fan interest up in the league because of his tremendous ability?? No, because he is. He can do what he wants/ There's a difference in "keeping fan interest up" and "singlehandedly keeping the NBA afloat." LeBron deciding he wants to change his # should have no effect at all on anybody else choosing to wear that number. It's not his call to make, and to be honest his arrogance and attitude over the last couple of seasons has worn very thin with me. Is he a great player? Sure. Is he the only reason anybody tunes in? Obviously not, because I watch games that the Cavs are not playing in. Am I tired of him? Getting there. And yes, he can do what he wants. And so can Marcus Camby, Jason Richardson, Kevin Martin, Jodie Meeks, and all the other players who wear #23 in the league.
