November 12, 200916 yr Author  No way he even becomes close to a Mutumbo. And Oden has really poor offensive skills just so you know. He is playing above himself right now and here in about 2 weeks everyone else will see that as well. Really? He is raw offensively, but I think he has some promise. I don't think he'll ever lead the league in scoring, but I could see him potentially turning into a guy that averages about 18 and 12, with a few blocks. I in no way was saying that he is good offensively though.

And because of that he will not get a rythym to help progress his offensive skills. In my opinion he doesn't even average a double-double for his career.

Ok, I got you on that.:thumb: I'm not saying that he's going to either, I just think he has potential if he can ever stay on the court.

November 12, 200916 yr Author Actually you are by saying he will average 18 ppg... I said that he had that kind of potential.
November 12, 200916 yr How good would Portland look with Durant to go with Roy and Aldridge? History repeating itself with the Bowie/Jordan blunder.
November 13, 200916 yr He'll never be more than an "average" NBA center. His offensive game is simply pathetic. Seems like a good kid. He just will never be very good in the NBA.

He uses both hands fairly well. He dominated in college. From the clips & video I've seen, he looked a lot like a young Patrick Ewing.
November 13, 200916 yr I'd rather have K. Durant, and so would Portland at this point. Portland could have two of the worse selections ever in choosing size over talent. Bowie over Jordan Oden over Durant.

November 13, 200916 yr Author Portland could have two of the worse selections ever in choosing size over talent. Bowie over Jordan Oden over Durant. Excellent post. :thumb: That's kind of ironic. I think they run a pretty decent organization, but those two moves were obviously the wrong choices.
November 13, 200916 yr Yeah, but when Ewing was his age he looked in the 20's. Oden looks about 48 years old. He reminds me of that movie Jack with Robin Williams. He looks 48 when you look at his face. I've never seen a man that's 48 years old have that type of physical talent.
