November 9, 200916 yr That is correct. So is Matsui. Probably keep Damon and release Matsui. I could see them going after Holiday, however.
November 9, 200916 yr Probably keep Damon and release Matsui. I could see them going after Holiday, however. I figured if it happened it'd be the other way around. Leave it to me to be different. I find it interesting that Peter Gammons said he didn't think they'd sign either though!
November 9, 200916 yr If they release Damon, they'd definitely go after Holliday. If they release Matsui I could see them maybe going after Holliday. If they re-sign both, does Swisher go in favor of Holliday?
November 9, 200916 yr That is correct. So is Matsui. Matsui will be back in Japan. This is why baseball needs a salary cap. As a Cardinals fan I really want Holliday back. I think we will be alright if we don't but I really want him back. Pujols was recently quoted saying that everyone knows he (Pujols) wants to stay in St. Louis. He said the Cards need to worry about Holliday and not him right now. Getting Holliday back will make Pujols very happy. Do whatever you can to be in a Red Bird uniform next year.
November 9, 200916 yr If the Yankees get Holliday will he bat 5th? That is ridiculous... Jeter Damon Rodriguez Teixera Holliday Posada Cabrera Swisher Cano :lol::lol:
November 9, 200916 yr Jeter Damon Rodriguez Teixera Holliday Posada Cabrera Swisher Cano :lol::lol: And 4 of those players would be making over 100 mil...:ohbrother:
November 9, 200916 yr Why Matsui back to Japan? I've heard he wants to finish out there. Also no MLB team will be able to match what some Japanese team will pay to have him on their team.
November 9, 200916 yr I've heard he wants to finish out there. Also no MLB team will be able to match what some Japanese team will pay to have him on their team. o, alright. :thumb:I hadn't heard he wants to finish there. Also have no idea what teams overseas can pay. Makes sense though.
November 9, 200916 yr Matsui has said he wants to keep playing here. But his market is limited because of his knees and the likelihood that he can only be a DH.
November 9, 200916 yr Matsui has said he wants to keep playing here. But his market is limited because of his knees and the likelihood that he can only be a DH. ...and because they are having problems finding a hat to fit that gord.
November 12, 200916 yr Wainwright on Holliday: "Adam Wainwright told 1380 KSLG in St. Louis Wednesday that he believes Matt Holliday will return to St. Louis for the 2010 season and beyond. "I think he'll be back," Wainwright told the morning radio program. "I know Matt, know his family, and know he wants to be back. It's going to take a perfect situation to get him to leave." The comments, however valid, won't sit well with Holliday's agent, Scott Boras, who rightfully seeks top dollar for his clients. If Holliday is looking for the most lucrative deal, he's not likely to find it in St. Louis. But if he's truly happy in the environment and hopes to stay, he can always call off the dogs and sign for a contract that will, either way, be fairly handsome. Source: KSLG 1380" from MSNBC
