We might think that any work of fiction has no value to it, however often is sociological and psychological studies works of fiction can be used as points of study regarding a particular topic. As have movies. Though I've never had the pleasure of playing Super Mario in any class!

But, my tax dollars help fund the community resource known as the Free Public Library. Even when I didn't have a job, my community still provided this great resource for me. I borrow the materials, and I take them back. In addition, I have at times, paid fines that went toward funding the library. I am a member of the Louisville community, and I choose to enjoy the benefits my city provides. Thank God I live in such a community! I also enjoy the parks and attend quite a few festivals as well. November 5, 200916 yr I'm of the opinion that watching videogames and movies borrowed from the local public library is a far better choice than many that could be made by our children. Now - should that be one of the functions of the public library? Some are saying yes, some are saying no.

If a parent takes advantage of the library's media smorgasboard, using "entertainment" dollars for things like, oh, let's say, food, clothing, shelter and college savings; is that being a cheapskate or is that demonstrating wise financial stewardship?

I don't think they even call them libraries any more..I guess us old guys gotta come kicking and screaming into the new age... Indeed. What happens if we all wake up one day, and indeed, print is dead? Do our public libraries roll over and die because, like back in the good old days, all they stock is books?
