Every movie, whether it be Spiderman, Requiem For a Dream, Saw, etc., has a theme or message they're trying to convey. Film is just another form of expression just as books. To discredit its educational value is very narrow-minded IMO.

Honestly, as long as there was an age requirement to check it out, I wouldn't object. I wouldn't pick it up, but if someone else got the urge to, why not?

When you hear a word for the first time, you learned a new word. When you read it for the first time, you not only learned a new word, you just learned how it's spelled as well.

And when you watch movies and see something for the first time, it evokes feelings and emotions that you've maybe never felt before. You've learned things about different peoples or situations you've never known before.
