Do the people on here picking Brossart know something nobody else does about the game?

 

I think it is a case of a too much credit being given to Brossart and too little credit to Frankfort, along with the injury situation. It was a nice year for Brossart and great job on the scheduling to get some wins and gain some confidence. But I don't think they are to the level to beat Frankfort, even with all the injuries Frankfort has suffered. Plus it is a bad match up. Brossart has some good size and power but they lack a little in team speed. Frankfort will have too much speed for Brossart.

Newport is the #4 seed going against #1 seed DeSales and IMO I believe Newport has a good chance of beating DeSales. Newport's offense is quick and the line has been improving as the season has progressed. Newport's defense has improved with the return of #30 Short. This is not the same team as it was a few weeks ago so don't be surprised if Newport pulls a win out of this one.

For all those who picked PCC over PC in round one, I hope you come to the game. It will be held at Pulaski Co. High and kickoff is set for 7:30. I can assure you PC's boys will be ready for this one.. I know a couple of kids who are just plain sick of the lack of respect that PC gets and I sure hope they go out and play like all Maroon fans know they can. If that happens PC rolls big!! As far as upset goes McCreary Central by 3.

Have to respectfully disagree. DeSales has 24 seniors that have been down this road before. They lost a tough OT game vs. 6-A Fern Creek and a one-score game vs. 6-A Seneca, both losses vs. far better competition than Newport played. Ryan Johnson for DeSales is one of the better QB's you never heard of.

 

Newport comes in to the playoffs on a 6-game losing streak.

As far as a 4 over a 1:

Metcalfe Co. over Bardstown (2-A)

McCreary Central with Aaron Watts at the RB position has the best shot at an upset. Bishop Brossart has no chance in beating Frankfort High.

I will defer to those who know these teams better - does Wayne Co. have a shot against Breathitt Co.? One thing that I would be worried about if I were Breathitt is it looks like they haven't played a game the last two weeks.

Wouldn't surprise me if East Jessamine upsets Holmes in 4A

Amis could arguably be the best player in the region; he possesses 4.5 speed and will likely play DB in college.

 

Perry Co. Central did beat North Laurel, which beat Pulaski when it had Chris Muse.
