Cooper is returning the majority of their team who will all be two year starters minus a few sophomores that may fill in. The majority of their team that plays will be seniors. Could be a very nice season for the Jags.

I agree that Cooper should be better next year as well but, I think Ryle will be the top team in Northern Ky. 6A next year.

Johnson Central was completely written off by some people after 4 weeks. I think a few people came to their defense on this site and said that it wasn't as bad as it seemed, they just needed some time to gel. Leatherneck specifically defended them despite their record. I think they are a really good story of how 1 season can tell 2 different stories. Congrats to JC. (I would throw out a good natured jab at those that wrote them off, but you know who you are:sssh:).

 

Also as a Lawrence County fan I obviously think they are not just the best story of this year, but one of the best stories ever in KY high school ball. These players are truly hard working and incredible athletes. The coaching staff is not just talented as coaches but they are really genuinely good people.

What has happened to spur the turn around at Johnson Central? Was it changes in personnel or schemes? I have heard they are now playing as well as last year, is this true?

Pendelton county has several members of thier staff that are former Ryle coaches.

In the surprised category, how about Estill County. They graduated 11 seniors last year (which is a lot for a school like Estill). This year they had one returning starter on offense and 3 returners on def. They only have 4 seniors on the roster this year. Most prognosticators had Estill winning only a couple of games this year with all that they had lost, but they are still playing and are at 7-4. The season started out rough for the young Neers, but they grew up quick and turned things around to do quite well for themselves this year. Hats off to the boys and the staff in Estill Co.:clap:
