Could it be they are who we thought they were? They will not win for another month at least.

Homers did like always. They were dominated today. It wasn't even close. In the pregame show Marvin said they were 4 plays away from not having a win. He's right. They're not that good. 8 wins would be a good year, and their schedule isn't that strong. They're just not very good.

 

So the Bengals did play bad yesterday, against a team that they probably should have beat. I mean there is no arguing that at all. However since they lost this game, you want to call them a bad team? I mean wow they must be the best bad team in the history of spots, because I don't think you see a bad team beat 3 good teams like the Packer, Steelers, and Ravens. Two of those game being on the road too. I mean I sorry but they are not a bad team, if they were a bad team they might get lucky to even come close to winning one of them.

 

Believe it or not this team is not that bad. Yeah they have some things that they need to do better, but which team doesn't? They had a let down today, it happens. I mean the Eagles lost to a bad bad Raiders team today, so I guess the Eagles are a bad team? At least the Bengals lost to a decent team, and a team that has a shot to make some noise. You have to realize that they Texans also basically were playing for their season yesterday. If they lose they go to 2 and 4 and a long shot for the playoffs. They had to get that win, and they came out playing like a team that had to get that win. The Bengals didn't match their intensity, thats all their is to it.

 

I very much doubt you will see as poor of a performance for the Bengals next week against the Bears. This was a good wake up call for them, this is the first game this season where they just got really beat. The one lost came on a fluke play, so this is the first one that they probably feel like that they just got beat for a change. It would be a good wake up call for them. Which by the way I think the Bengals go at least 2 and 1 over the next three games. I think they beat the Bears, and the Ravens. The Steelers game will be tough. However even if they do go 1 and 2 over the next 3 games they are still in great shape. They would be 5 and 4 and with 3 straight VERY WINNABLE games coming up after that. So could very well be 8 and 4 after that run even if they go 1 and 2 the next three games, which I think they do better than that anyways.

Caldwell had 4 drops yesterday, Coles one, and Coats had one. All of them struggled today catching the ball from Palmer. What really killed them was 4 of those drops came on third down and would have gave them first downs. Then obviously the two fumbles after catches by the TE's didn't help either. With all that, I don't see how someone can put it on Palmer. He played really good actually, and put the ball where it needed to be. His only bad throw was the interception, and at that point of the game he was having to take more of a chance since the Bengals were down 2 scores.

They are so predictable, and they need to open things up some on offense. When they open up the offense they have done well, when they haven't they have struggled.

Trust me I am not happy with him either. Henry needs to keep playing more. They Bengals really need a new offensive coordinator though. They are so predictable, and they need to open things up some on offense. When they open up the offense they have done well, when they haven't they have struggled.

 

From the way Marvin talks, Henry plays well on the passes thrown to him but won't do anything else to help the team out. Doesn't block well, has alluded to him not practicing hard all the time, doesn't run sharp routes.

 

As fans, we don't see the running back being brought down because Henry missed a block he was supposed to make.

 

Or we don't see Henry not running a sharp route to take the safety to him, opening up a lane for a teammate.

Teams like the Giants, Saints, Colts, Vikings, etc, can not be on the top of their game and slip out with a victory.

 

I don't think the Bengals have that depth of talent that they can show up and play at even 80% while the other team is playing at 100% and win.

The Eagles / Raiders game is an example of how the margin of error for every team in the NFL is slim.

 

The NFL is the most balanced professional sport...by far! Each week, any team has the opportunity to beat whomever they are playing. Sure, some teams are better than others, but the fact remains that EVERY game in the NFL is a tough one, with few exceptions.

 

 

Any NFL team that comes out and plays at 80% (which is an arbitrary number, but I'll run with it) will lose.

Wow? How do you come to this? I mean Palmer was one of the only people who seemed like he came to play yesterday. He put up very good numbers, and would have been better if it wasn't for 6 dropped passes, and four of them coming on 3rd down. If receivers can't catch the ball, and then if they do catch it and then they fumble. Its kind of hard for a QB to lead his team for touchdowns then...

I'm sure you have probably been wrong EVERY game, but one... like a lot of people. Sit there and act like you know what is going on, but you have no more clue than the rest of us. It's the NFL... did you see what the Eagles did yesterday? Is their season over? In the NFL you are what you are and the Bengals are 4-2... 3-0 in the division... and have wins vs Pitt, @GB and @Bal. They are a good team who had a let down.

 

Are we sure Pittsburgh, Baltimore, or GB are good? When did I say I KNOW what is going on. I had a feeling the Bengals weren't as good as their record and Houston was better than theirs. So I played a nice moneyline play on Houston. I've won both of my moneyline plays against them this year.

 

They've done what they needed to do and have an outstanding record. They are playing an absolute must win game at home on Sunday. I think they'll play well and win. Nothing they do would surprise me though.

I agree that they were due for a letdown. I thought after they got lucky to take the lead at the end of the half the "letdown" portion of the game was over. It was a tough week after the last 3 games they played. Also some of the emotion they played w/ b/c of Zimmer had to be less.

Tough loss at home. They are however 4-2. And no matter if I think it's sort of a misnomer, the Bengals are in fact in 1st place. Now the question is can they stay there? I would have never put them at 4-2, but am happy to see them at least competing. Next week is a big game. Unfortunately 17 pts isn't going to get it done in the NFL too many times, so hopefully the O gets it going.
