Anytime when Ludlow plays Bellevue its usually the same way. Every single time you know what Bellevue is going to do, they are going to run it right at you and every now and then throw a trick play in there. It just comes down to stopping it, and even though you know its coming. It is hard to stop it because Bellevue definitely always is a very good running team. The three games that Ludlow has won in the past 6 years against Bellevue has been when Ludlow has slowed down Bellevue's rushing attack. The games they lost, Bellevue was able to run the ball and control the line of scrimmage. When it comes to running the ball on someone and stopping the run, it just comes down to really who wants it more. Both teams know how this game is going to go, it will just come down to who plays the hardest. Ludlow is going to have to play their best game of the year and harder than they have all year. If they do that, then I can see them slowing down Buckler and would give them a shot at winning.

I know win or lose this is always my favorite game of the year, even though it is much better when Ludlow wins. :D

We do agree on one thing this is always one of my favorite games of the year also. Always enjoyed coming to Ludlow to play and now enjoy it as a fan. If the parking was a little better it would better but we can live with that. Just something about the stadium the atmosphere the people I always enjoyed. It's usually a very competitive game as well. On paper this should be a blow out but as I've said before you can throw the records out the window when it comes to the little river schools playing.

I know he probably isn't getting anything big because of his size, (which I hate bc if you can play you can play) but has Buckler been getting looks from anywhere? If so, where?

He has got many of letters and coaches calling him. His biggest letter was to Division 1 Toledo.

That's awesome. Anyone throwing offers his way?

Im not 100 percent sure on if he has any offers or not.

So Ludlow definitely believes that they not only can play with Bellevue but can beat them. These two teams have each won 3 games against each other the last 6 years. Bellevue this year I admit is the favorite to win this game, however Coach Hornsby and staff will definitely have a great game plan for this game, and the kids will come out playing hard. If all the kids on the team do their jobs, then I definitely do think Ludlow can pull this one out.

You bring up 3 wins in the last 6 years, but you could also say 1 win in the last 4 years (that sounds less impressive considering that one win came when Bellevue was struggling to a 3-7 or 4-6 losing season). The last two years have not been that close at all.

Really? I mean I was at the games the last two years, and both those games definitely were close. In neither case did Bellevue just dominate the game. Especially the game two years ago. Ludlow moved the ball basically all game against Bellevue, and Bellevue capatilized on couple of Ludlow mistakes. If they played again Ludlow very easily could have won, because those two teams that year talent wise were about the same. Then last year Ludlow drove right down the field and scored on Bellevue right away and was hard fought early. I do forget the final score of the game, so Bellevue might have won be a lot more than I remembering though. However once again I think if they played again last year that Ludlow might have just won. I mean at the end of the year, I think we seen that Ludlow might have just been the better team and playing better than Bellevue. As evidence of Bellevue losing in the first round of the playoffs to a lower seeded team, and Ludlow beating their team even though they weren't favorite. Bellevue has won two straight, but Bellevue just won of those things that they won on that given night. The last two years, the game really could have went either way. Now in 2005 Bellevue was just flat out better.

2007: 35-21

2008: 33-22

Both won by Bellevue. 2007 wasn't in question at all. I was working on the inside last year and can definately say Bellevue was sweating it a time or two last year.:thumb:

In 2007 Bellevue kept that touchdown lead basically all game. However as I said Ludlow really drove the ball all night, and I remember two turnovers that ended up happening inside 10 yard line when Ludlow was about to score. So as I said mistakes really killed Ludlow in that game, and give Bellevue credit because like a good team they took advantage of it. I feel like in 2007 Ludlow probably had the better chance of beating Bellevue again if they played, then last years team.

I will give you the fact that Ludlow has been competitive with Bellevue the last few years, but let's take into account the entire series record. Bellevue leads the all-time series with 60 wins to Ludlow's 27.

That is how dominate Bellevue has been over the years and how dominate they will be over Ludlow Friday night. I am sure Ludlow will come out ready to play (as they typically do). Rice and Stegemoller are also very good players. But, the offensive line for Bellevue will dominate up front and I expect Buckler to rack up at least another 250.

Bellevue is winning the all time series, I have never questioned that. However to act like Bellevue's program now is dominate over Ludlow, is just not true. All time Bellevue has been the better program, but lets not kid ourselves to thinking that Bellevue's these years are that much better. Since 2003 there has only been two games between the two when the game really was not in much doubt. In 2003 when Ludlow won, Bellevue had a late special teams touchdown with less than two minutes to go in the game to make it 28 to 12. That game was in control of Ludlow all game, and in 2005 when Bellevue blew out Ludlow. Those are the only two games since 2003 when the game really was not in much doubt. Other than that the other games since then very easily could have went the other way around. The games that Ludlow won Bellevue very easily could have won, and vice versa. Most of these years lately, if the two teams played again a second time, there was probably a good chance the other team would have won the rematch. So for all time yeah Bellevue has been better, but lets not kid ourselves into thinking that Bellevue's program lately has been dominant over Ludlow as you have said.

By the way I am still waiting on you to respond to your cheating argument you put on here. I mean once again how do you know that Ludlow ran an illegal play as you said on purpose to gain yards? Are you positive it was illegal since the refs didn't call it? Are you positive that maybe someone just didn't line up in the right position on that play. I mean those things happen in the Pro's. So please tell me how you are so positive that Ludlow was running an illegal play on purpose? I would really like to know how you are so sure of it, because if your going to accuse someone of that you might want to make sure you actually know for sure. Other wise you don't put stuff like that on here.

I am positive that Ludlow ran an illegal play because I was at the Bishop Brossart game to see a family friend go through the homecoming ceremony and they ran that play. Its a play were I believe #8 lines up at TE and #5 lines up at OT and both go out on pass routes. I hope in your extensive knowledge of football that you realize that an OT (no matter what the number) if covered up cannot go out on a pass play.

I'll give Ludlow credit they sneakiness of the play was good, it obviously fooled the officials, but I am sure Coach Eckstein and his staff would have seen this play on film and are going to warn the officials about it. I have known Dave (Eckstein) for over 15 years and I know that he doesn't let this things get past his staff.

Also speculated about a "rematch" in the season is absolutely crazy! I am not even going to argue this point. Again, you keep dwelling on these 3 wins in 6 years (which 50% isn't too bad). However, Ludlow just doesn't have what it takes (outside of Rice and Zach) to beat Bellevue. I've stated the facts and not things that should have, could have, or would have.

We'll discuss further, Saturday morning after the results are in about which team has a better program.

1.) One game don't define a program. If you actually look at what I said, I admitted that Bellevue all time has been the better program. However I know this is very hard for you to believe, but since you like to point out facts. As I said over the last 6 years Bellevue has not been the dominate program over Ludlow as you like to believe. Program wise they have been at about the same level. They have split games against each other, and the best either team has done in these six years is make the second round of the playoffs. So I am sorry but I don't see how you can say either program has been dominate over the other in the time span I mentioned. I mean apparently unlike you I am able to admit when teams are good, if you notice I have been someone in a lot of threads saying Bellevue is one of the top ten teams in 1A this year. So please don't give me that I will have crow to eat if Bellevue wins. I have stated that Ludlow is going to have to play a great game and their best game of the year to win because Bellevue is very good this year.

Now as for that play, I guess you really don't pay attention to what I have to say. To come on here and say that you know for sure that Ludlow ran an illegal play on purpose is just funny, and shows maybe how little you know. Maybe it did end up being an illegal play, but for you to say that Ludlow did it on purpose shows how much credibility I should give you on here. I mean you really don't know if they did it on purpose or not do you? I mean I am sure you watch College, and NFL. I am sure you have seen even NFL players line up in the wrong spot sometimes and cover up someone when they shouldn't or not having enough on the line, etc. which is an illegal play. So I guess its to hard for you to believe, that maybe that is what happened in that case. I would guess that the TE probably was suppose to be off the line in that situation if that tackle was to go out for a pass. I mean what sense does that make to run an illegal play, because if its illegal then most likely the refs usually would catch it and it would cost your team. So why would a coach want to intentionally cost his team? I mean seriously think about that before you come on here and act like Ludlow runs illegal plays on purpose and say that on here when you really don't know.

I think you guys are too hung up on the past. Football is by far the most what have you done for me lately sport. I don't care if Bellevue had won 500 games to Ludlow's 1. The fact is on Friday whichever team outpays the other will be the winner.

If records and matchups were all that mattered SK would've been out in the first round last year, but the last I checked they played in Papa John's Stadium for the state title.
