May 17, 201016 yr I had heard about the poaching case, but I wasn't sure whether or not it was the same guy/deer. What an idiot. Apparently a couple of guys had this deer patterned in Adams Co. Had a ton of preseason pics and video of him. They even talked with one of the local DNR officers about him. Apparently a couple of weeks prior to season opening the deer just disappeared. The DNR guys heard about this jack donkey claiming to have killed this one in KY. He took it to a sportsman show and had it on display. The DNR officers went there and quesitioned him and he caved. It's ashame a deer like this couldn't have been taken legally. Hunting in my opinion has become too way too much about the money and fame. I love alot of the shows as much as anyone but some will go way too far to get in the spot light. The story I read said this idiot had already signed on as a pro hunter with some outdoor production team. It's amazing that just because someone is lucky enough to be sitting in the right stand at the right time they are all of sudden a great hunter. That's not to say people weren't poaching before there was money in it but I think it's made it worse.

May 17, 201016 yr Here is a pic of the deer mounted. It would have been the 4th biggest typical ever taken in Ohio. The guy who poached was fined $23,570 and lost his hunting privliages for life in Ohio and also in KY I believe.
May 21, 201016 yr I read about the fines ad the hunting ban but as wondering if this guy is going to do any significant time in the clink? Anyone heard?
