jvdfc Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 I've always wanted to try fall crappie, but never have. You got any tips? Yea, go with my cousin. J/K I'm a Bass Fisherman if anything, so I go with my cousin who could catch fish anytime, anywhere. But usually we use live minnows suspended about 10~12 ft. Good luck 5, give it a shot. :thumb:
sportsnut859 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Sounds just like hitting the crappie in the summer.
jvdfc Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 They also like the pop-eye and the roadrunner. :thumb:
Augger Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 When the water cools down in the fall. The fishing is great at this time of year.
Muddawg Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Head down to Kentucky Lake and get yourself some minnows under slip floats - Tear em' up!
Muddawg Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Crappie fishing best in spring and late fall~

sportsnut859 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Went and fooled around on the river bank a couple of days ago. Those cats were nailing on the river!
The Greatest fan Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Trout were tearing it up at Grayson Lake tailwaters today. I caught five of theses on a fly rod. The rest on minnows. I caught 14 all together. Plus a couple of crappie also.

The Greatest fan Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 I caught the crappies on minnows. But the trout were hitting the minnows and they were rising to the top so the old fly rod came out. I originally went out for crappie but the trout ruled out. I used to really get some good crappie there but a few years ago the water got really high there and changed something. I've not done real good there since. One time I caught over 40 crappie in about 2 hours time.

Great pic TGF, A very good friend of mine has been doing very well on trout at Greenbo, mainly using the Berkley Power Bait (eggs) and corn. As for artificials, a "Joes Fly" in line spinner and very small "Rooster Tails" do very well along with the small casting spoons.
85Bears Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 At my farm pond the catfish are still biting. I caught four, each weighing two to three pounds just the other day.
