October 6, 200916 yr My wife, son and I just got back from Pigeon Forge where we stayed in a cabin for our "vacation." My son is not quite 13 months old and is a true joy. However, last night we went to bed around 11:30 after packing most of our things preparing to leave in the morning. At around 1:30 AM I was awoke by a strange sensation on my back, a continious feeling that startled me awake from my slumber. In roughly 1.3 seconds I realized what was happening and I jumped up from the bed in disbelief. :eek: My son had awoke and my wife was chaning his diaper in the bed when he decided he needed to pee again, on me.....My back was soaked in urine and I rushed to the bathroom with my wife saying, "I'm so sorry, he just went, how could he go again?" Ah, the joys of being a parent. :lol:
October 6, 200916 yr As a parent whose "baby" just turned 18, enjoy each and every one of those moments. Believe it or not, you will miss getting peed on! I remember when one of my boys was a baby, my husband just came home from work and picked him up. In a few seconds, it was clear that he was going to throw up (not burp, but the real thing). Realizing that he would not make it to the bathroom, my husband pulled open his shirt pocket and my son promptly thew up in his pocket. Kinda gross, but we laughed about it then and now.

You do a lot of "gross" stuff as a parent that you wouldn't even dream of doing in other situations. I even find myself not finding them gross but just something that I need to do for my baby. Dirty nose, puke, poop and pee messes, etc... all taken care of my the parents. Still, waking up in the night with a stream of pee flowing on your back, not great at the moment. We have laughed about it today, but at 1:30, not so much.

October 7, 200916 yr You do a lot of "gross" stuff as a parent that you wouldn't even dream of doing in other situations. I even find myself not finding them gross but just something that I need to do for my baby. Dirty nose, puke, poop and pee messes, etc... all taken care of my the parents. . I once tried to "catch" vomit before it hit out new carpet. Instinct. As BWfan said you'll miss it some day.

I can't tell you how much I miss her and her Daddy kisses and hugs!:cry::cry::cry: Enjoy all those "gross" moments, as you will cherish them forever once they leave you, to go off on their own. The time will pass much quicker than you realize, so enjoy, and never miss a moment being with him, and don't allow anything to get in the way of that, no matter what.

October 7, 200916 yr My daughter just turned 1 year old last Friday, the joy she has brought me is unexplainable. Some of the things she has done in the last year are also unexplainable…:lol:

I often say no matter how bad my day was at work he can make me feel so much better when I pick him up. Before my daughter was born I wouldn't have understood how true the above statement is. Your goals, dreams and ambitions change so much when you have a child but it's all for the good...
