ColonelMike Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Mason County vs. Russell is a big one this week. The Royals are awfully good, but I think Russell just may be the team to knock them off...
bigblueinsanity Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Mason County vs. Russell is a big one this week. The Royals are awfully good, but I think Russell just may be the team to knock them off... I really don't think so. If we get tons of rain Russell may be in luck. Mason Co has to much speed for Russell.
5 ROUTE Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Etown was one of the teams last year to make somoe noise. Did they lose a lot of kids? I know the QB and the big WR are gone. They usaully give Central all they want. This should be a good game in 3A.

The Panthers are very one-dimensional; last I checked they were averaging about 30 yards per game on the ground. That's not a recipe for success against a fast Central team. If Etown can't establish the run, Central will pin their ears back and it could get ugly in a hurry.
Snappy502 Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 I really don't think so. If we get tons of rain Russell may be in luck. Mason Co has to much speed for Russell. I second that, but either way Mason has to much talent.
Governor Jake Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Royalty wins out. Mason County Royals will have know trouble ruling Russell.
The Scribe Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If Russell wins, this class will be put on its ear
mcpapa Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If Russell wins, this class will be put on its ear AP (I know, I know) has Russell 4th, I think.
ColonelMike Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 AP (I know, I know) has Russell 4th, I think. Just above Durrett.
ColonelMike Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 If Russell wins, this class will be put on its ear Maybe. If Russell wins, I'm thinking Somerset, Belfry, and Sheldon Clark all stay ahead of them, though. I'm guessing the Royals drop more than Russell goes up, if Russell wins. We'll see.

ColonelMike Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Probably so; that's the nature of polls. Witness the Mississippi Rebels. Just a personal opinion, but I think the Rebs were a tad over-hyped, as good as they are. Seems like there's always an SEC "glamour" pick that's over-rated every year. A so-called "trendy" pick...
