10th Region Cats Pause Preview?

Featured Replies

Deming may also beam in the a decent team in the region. Which district in the 10th would you say is the toughest?

Deming usually can put a good starting 5 on the floor but the no depth kills them.

That's easy. Montgomery, GRC, Bourbon and Paris.

3 of the top 4 teams in the region according to Cats Pause.

Yeah, 39th should be interesting with Mason Co, Saint Patrick and Bracken Co along with Augusta.

It should be a fun season. Good luck to all and bring one back for the 39th.

Look for the winner to come from this district.

Most of the Class A schools dont play a tough schedule. Id say it will be 1. Montgomery Co., 2. GRC, 3. Brossart, 4. Scott in a suprise year. Dont count the Royals out they got spunk

You may be correct I havent checked most of the Class A schools except St. Pat. and they play 3 of your 4 picks. Plus other very tough teams such as Rowan, and several Northern Ky teams. I think St. Pat will be one of the top teams in the region.

Ky. boys and girls high school basketball are all lumped into one class (thank God) where small, medium and large schools compete in the same district, region and state tournaments. There is however a small school tourney which is not in discussion here. There are several factors in which to schedule games, they include location, competitive talent, a rivalry and last but not least money that can be generated (Hmmm). In this Wal-Mart era where bigger is percieved to be better the St. Patrick Lady Saints have ruffled a few feathers with a cats pause preseason ranking at 3rd in the 10th. All will be played out on the court soon. I can't wait.

Funny you would mention those two factors when a big rivalry game in the 39th will not take place considering it would bring a large attendence (and revenue). Still can't understand why? Oh well! Maybe in the post season?

I wonder why Mr. Fraysure changes his methodology when picking the girls top team v/s the way he chooses the boys. Montgomery has gone to Diddle 5 times in a row now so with the typical way of thinking - until someone knocks the Lady Indians off they should remain #1 - right?

It doesn't matter how many the Mason Co. boys graduate or how talented GRC is, he still picks Mason #1 - Why don't the Montgomery Lady Indians get the same respect Mr. Fraysure?

Since Clark Co brings back a ton of talent, I would have put GRC first too.

Oh wait didn't he pick last year as well and they made it to state. :thumb:

The guy knows his sports. :irked:

The guy is a homer.

If picking the right teams to win over the years is a homer then I guess your right. :thumb:

I agree, I was shocked to see GRC rated #1 this year.

Most schools in NKY are in the NKAC. The class A schools have to play each other twice (home and away). Then you throw in the disctrict games and there are only a handful of games that are discretionary to schedule.

Some districts have went to a 40-60 mile MAX distance on scheduling of any games.
