I think most are shocked they shut down Boone's running game. The ways S.K. ran wild. And I agree, sometimes a loss early wakes people up.

 

Quainoo was hurt and was used only when needed, but Connor's D did step it up. Boone's D was pathetic. I've never seen a Boone County defense miss so many tackles. They are small and young, but they need to learn how to bring their feet. It's a fundamental that should of been taught in pee-wee. Connor is a good team this year but Boone made their whole team look all-state.

Why would anyone be shocked?? Maybe Conner deserves a little more respect from all of the football experts around NKY. A few adjustments here and there and they could very easily run the table. Maybe the SK loss was a good thing and woke everyone up in Hebron? Sometimes a loss early can be the best motivational tool any coach could use.

 

I agree with the end of your post, but don't see Conner running the table. Granted nobody thought SK would last year either, but with Ryle still ahead for Conner I just don't see it happening.

Conner is taking it game by game I think the team as a whole playing together will decide on the path they will take so the game against Boone they stayed focus. And agianst SK they thought it was a cake walk after they was up 14-0,when the tipped ball was intercepted and SK scored and went ahead they fell apart.Oh Sk had a great game plan and was awesome on defense and couldnt be stopped.Conner will get the chance against SK again .Table turns this year for Conner in the rematch.

This is the worst tackling Boone Co team in the last 10 years.

You make a valid point. Just like SK's loss to Boone last season, it knocked them down a notch. A chip on the shoulder can lead to good things.

This was my first chance to make it to a Boone game, and there are some players that are giving all they have on each play. Oppenheimer, sells out every play, Alford, going both ways, looks like a good athlete, Quanioo, plays hurt , still produces. I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that stuck out Friday night. I'm not even close to being a coach,but it makes sense to coach to the players talent that you have in stead of a football scheme that you have been using for 20 years.

Spread the offense out, make the defense spread out, open the field up. I can't comment on the defense, but the one play that Conner

kept running, passing to the receiver far out on the left side on the line of scrimmage for a minimun of 10 yard gains and up to touchdowns was mind boggiling. Seems the defensive coaches could of adjusted to the play early in the game. Conner is well coached and have alot of good players, They could be the Sk of last year, keep it going Conner.

West was 17/23 for 222 and 1 TD plus 149 yards rushing with 3 TDs.
