Very good win tonight for Boyle, good luck the rest of the season.

Nice win for the Rebels in what I call a statemenent game. They showed they can win in many other ways than just Rees Macsharra. I heard somebody say that 7 different players scored in this one. I don't know if that's true, but I do know of 5 off the top of my head.

 

Six different players scored, which is absolutely outstanding. :thumb: You make a great point that I was going to bring up earlier about Boyle County showing that it has plenty of other weapons other than Rees MacShara. However, MacShara did run 13 times for 180 yards(76 TD run) but he lost two fumbles. He racked up 234 total yards of offense on 16 touches. Time to get ready for Lexington Catholic! :clap:

I thought that 76 yard run came off of a slip screen, but maybe it was a run. Even the paper said it was a run but i could have sworn it was a pass. Anybody get a better look at that than me or possibly see the same thing so I don't feel I'm losing it! Either way he did a great job but it seemed Coach French came out to prove to everyone that the team isn't all Rees and they have plenty of weapons. From the opening possession he put Boone in the shotgun and with 5 wide and Boone responded in a huge way. If he can continue to throw the ball like that and spread it out, it will tough for anyone to stop Boyle this year because teams can't just sit back and watch Rees. I think Lafayettes entire defense was geared to stopping Rees that 1st quarter and all of a sudden Boone comes out slinging it all over the field and by the time Lafayette starts realizing whats happening they are down 3 or 4 touchdowns.

If we are talking about the touchdown play, that was a pass. You are not losing it BBFan.

 

Overall the best game to date by Boone. I can not see how he could have played any better than he did last night. I have a good feeling inside that I did not have before last nights game. The D is really looking good at holding Lafayette to -6 yards rushing for the game and 93 yards total for the game. The only things last night that was a negitive was we missed an extra point. (still 43/44 on the season) and Rees's fumbles. This was a very big win for Boyle. Lafayette is a really good team, and they just flat out got steam rolled last night.

I believe his longest run was in the 3rd qtr when he was running towards the scoreboard on Boyle's sideline and the db tackled him around the 15 yard line.

Boyle is the best 4A team in the state. Spreading it out gives Catholic something else to prepare for. Their marching towards a battle of the Titans with the Bobcats from Log Mountain.
