Good win for Trimble! I am alittle surprised.

Good win for Trimble. Congratulations and thanks for doing something that needed to be done to Carroll. Much has been said about easy schedule and I couldnt agree more. I am a big fan of this coaching staff but at the same time we have to realize we are not as good as a team as our record indicates. That was proven tonight and I hope no one says well we had starters out first half. BIG DEAL! If were that good we can overcome that, which we did not.

Carroll on paper could have, should have went 8-2 or 9-1 and lost the first round in the playoffs. I think for this team to have a successful season they must win a first round playoff game. Wins do not always equal being successful IMO.

I hate losing as much as anyone but I also think as good a win as this was for Trimble it was a great loss for Carroll. If we are going to compete in post season we will allow this loss to be a huge learning experience.

And finally for what its worth its no one player or coaches fault for the loss and its certainly not because some of the starters did not start the game.

Congrats to Trimble, they played a good game and Carroll hurt themselves with mental mistakes. The debate over who started and didn't start isn't an issue. Carroll will learn from the mistakes they made and move on. Could have/ should have comment is a typical bandwagon fan!!! :ohbrother:

I do have to admit though, it is a little funny that all of sudden it is time to get vocal when things become negative . . .lets stay consistent

TC is a good football team, not alot of talent but seem to be well disciplined and play hard.

True Blue and Gold if your not going to stick with us during the rough times we dont need you around during the high times. :idunno:

 

Let the coaches and staff do their job. The parents have already ran off a really good coach from Trimble. If would be awful for the kids if there is another situation where the parents and coaching staff are not on the same page. It really is about the kids and allowing them to play for their school. Its not about parents or anyone else in the area taking shots at the coaching staff. The head coach was hired to win games, although he has not done much of that this year, let him do his job. When the district thinks that it is time for a change then you put your resume in and try to get the job. Trimble will be ok in a few years, will they will the amount of games they did when Poynter was there? Who knows, but it will be a rough transition between the coaches because of the the tw different systems. Oh and True, Blue, and Gold would be the last person to turn on the Raiders! Does a heck of a job doing the little things for the coaches to allow them to coach their sport.

Thanks for the compliment, but I won't let a shot against our coach ("he was hired to win and hasn't done much of that this year") go unanswered. I also strongly defended Poynter when he was here and I will always consider him a friend, but I feel as though you do him a disservice when you keep bringing up him as a comparision to the current coach.

 

Poynter's team the first year went 3-7. Six games in this year, the Raiders are 2-4. Comparing common opponents from Poynter's first year, the Raiders lost to Carroll Co, Henry Co, Eminence, Owen Co, and Frankfort. They beat Bracken Co. This year the Raiders beat Carroll Co, and has yet to play Bracken Co (a team usually down) or Frankfort (a team that is NEVER down). Compare LAST year to this year - the only current difference is that the Raiders lost to Carroll but beat Owen.

 

What does all of that mean? Not much! Different years yield most teams with different players. You can't compare this year's Raiders with last year's Raiders or any other for that matter. There is no A-11 this year, so they are running a totally new offensive scheme. Our QB and our center/MLB graduated last year, so those in that position this year only had JV experience really.

 

Coach Poynter IS a great coach and he did many, many good things at our school. I keep up with his team at Bracken Co and wish him only the best. However, I believe in Coach Collins and what he is doing with our boys and have every bit as much confidence in him and his program.

 

Sometimes people want to take out their grievances with other situations on here and disguise it. As adults, let's try not to do that. As previously said, it is all about the kids. I'm proud of our boys and have been and always will be in their corner. I'm not just proud of them as a team on the field, but I'm proud of them individually. More than one of them (past and present) know who TB&G is and that she can always be counted on when you need something, big or small.

Good post. You are correct. One season game does not make the season, particularly a non-district one. CC can bounce back and make some playoff noise!
