It appears the reporter had a nice post-game chat with Coach Rice, while NCC was probably quickly up the hill, on the bus and headed home before the reporter could get to them.

 

Only surmising, but I would suspect that is what happened.

Actually, this is a perfect example of the liberal bias in the media...especially the Enquirer. Give the press coverage to the inner city public school and ignore the conservative parochial school...typical.

They had to get on the bus to sing "Airborn!" Coach Rice and his staff are doing good things at Newport and I have no problem reading about it. I wish him, his staff, and his team the best.

The difference is this game for Newport was horrific officiating, on the blok punt it was clear the ball went into the end zone, they gave it to NewCath on the one. The on side kick the side judge said Newport ball and the white hat came from the other side of the field to change the call, come on now either newport had the ball or they didn't how hard is that to call. Newport's QB ran with the ball on 4th down and was took out of bounds right at the first down marker and they did not even call for a measurement. Newport could not get a call in this game. NewCath coach I think felt the same way as they was on the afficiating crew all night. Newport has no luck when they need a play they could not make one. I could go on and on but if the ball would have bounced the other way this could have been a different game.Both teams played some hit ball and 33 for NewCath can tell you about that. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year!

Hopefully this gets the momentum going.

It was bad but NewCath is not very good either IMO. I look for NewCath to be much better next season. I dont see them making a run at state this year.

NewCath won because they was the better team Newport lost cause they wouldn't. The officials made bad calls for both teams.

How didn't you see that? They were loaded w/ returning starters.
