I notice on Mason County's schedule that there is no longer the traditional M.C.I.T. during the first week of January.

 

I know that they have discussed doing away with it over the past few years, since most of the teams involved play each other during the regular season, but it was always a nice "trip over the track" at the Fieldhouse, when the regional tournament is played there.

From what I hear from some coaches is Mason and Madison Central would not play us said they wanted to go in to a different direction ! In my opion 2 of our best rivals. :ohbrother:

 

Looks like both are "toning down' their schedules. I agree that these games were great rivals, hate to see it end, because talent level is down in these two programs.

Yeah I noticed no M.C.I.T. myself and I will also miss it! Greatest tourney moment was the Pendleton's Terry Davis and his three to beat Mason in the 06 final which was a double overtime game. Greatest high school game I ever witnessed!

There are alot of posts I should have bookmarked....:lol:. Believe that the AD/coaching staff know more about how their team will be competitive and adjusts the schedule as such. I see this with Mason Co and Madison Central this year. Something that some fans are not willing to admit. If you have another explanation, we would like to know it.

 

How did Mason fair in the State tourney last year? Not the talent level of Miller and company that won the state.

Not at all...better than we did. Just making a point in reference to what poster had stated.

All of this Mason County slamming is getting old! Mason County basketball is the standard of 10th region basketball and one of the top five high school basketball programs in the greatest state to play the sport! The people in Maysville love the sport and develop talent with the Boy's Club and the YMCA that any community wanting to win should have to grow talent. Mason County wins and wins big with a relatively small school and student enrollment by being smart with player development. Mason County basketball is one of the driving forces of any school in this state who wants to measure basketball success.

They won state 2 years out of 5 and was runners up another,No they didnt go deep last year,BUT THEY DID MAKE IT AGAIN!

Actually Mason give the Cards all they wanted last year in Georgetown,As a matter of fact i bet if u ask the Cards faithful if Neal Pawsat didn't get knocked out early in the 3rd period Mason would have won.
