October 1, 200916 yr Oh please. Find me one person on here who said he had a bad arm. A few people here said he would never throw the 97+ that we were told he would. So, maybe "bad arm" wasn't exactly what was said, but it was what was implied.
October 1, 200916 yr This is for Weathers, right? I'm sure it's a player from a list of five or so, and I'm sure they're middling prospects at best. Yeah, Weathers. And yeah, you're right. :thumb:
October 1, 200916 yr A few people here said he would never throw the 97+ that we were told he would. So, maybe "bad arm" wasn't exactly what was said, but it was what was implied. And he hasn't been throwing 97+. You are taking completely the wrong angle on this one.
October 1, 200916 yr And he hasn't been throwing 97+. You are taking completely the wrong angle on this one. I haven't watched any of his starts lately, but back in the summer (late july and August) he was hitting 96-98 on a pretty regular basis.
October 1, 200916 yr In the past month, Bronson has thrown 44 1/3 innings with 4 wins, 30 K, a 1.83 ERA and a WHIP of .90.
October 1, 200916 yr And he hasn't been throwing 97+. You are taking completely the wrong angle on this one. I know he hasn't been throwing 97+ the last two starts, however, he has hit 98 more than a few times this season. It is just that last winter people wanted to trade him for spare parts and now he is 5-1 with a 1.89 in his last 6 and where are all the haters now? No "wrong angle" here.

You definitely had the wrong angle when you tried to claim that others said that Bailey had a bad arm. I don't recall anyone even coming close to saying he had a bad arm.
October 1, 200916 yr Author As the founding member of the "why in the world would you trade Homer Bailey" club I do enjoy going back and looking at some of the posts saying he'll never be a MLB pitcher and that the Reds should go ahead and get an old and declining Jermaine Dye or that the Reds should "get whatever they can for him" but it "won't be much." As HSSRB would say "that's rich."

He's actually 5-1 with a 1.89 ERA in his last 8 starts. And yes, you took the "wrong angle". Very few people have questioned Homer's physical tools.

How quickly you changed your argument.
October 2, 200916 yr For the most part he has thrown much harder than the last two seasons. I was at the game against the Cardinals and there were some 95's on the scoreboard.
