Lighten up, Papa. I'm 47, not a Brossart fan, and I never said this year or next year. Five years from now, things might get interesting.

 

Didn't mean to come off so harsh. Just think your post disrespected several district opponents that BB has yet to beat. They have a good situation to build a good program. They just need to take baby steps and build a solid foundation.

On the contrary, I think Brossart is going to get beat by the rest of the 1A district this year, and never meant to suggest otherwise. They're nowhere close to Bellevue's level, not to mention Beechwood, but I think they're capable of making a respectable showing against Dayton and Walton-Verona. Tough to judge them on the Ludlow loss due to the oddball circumstances surrounding that game, but that played out the only way it could have due to the illness on the Brossart campus.

I really wish Brossart didn't have that going around last week. For one because obviously wouldn't want people sick. But for two, so we wouldn't have this excuse about Brossart and why they lost. I really think people let Brossart being undefeated go to their heads, and made them think they are much better than what they are. Yeah they are better than in years past, however they are still towards the bottom. Ludlow was the better team last night, and just is the better team period. Brossart came out playing as well as they could and with the confidence of an undefeated team. However once Ludlow made adjustments, the game really wasn't close the rest of the way.

Fishhead I hope you are young because your way too naive to be of any age over say 15 or 16. To think your going to challenge a program like Beechwood or for that matter Bellevue on a regular basis any time in the near future is just ridiculous. Tradition and hard work is not something you buy it has to be earned and not over night it takes a long time. I was going to be nice and not predict a score but just to bring you down to earth a little:

BB has a chance to build a good program, but you don't build a program over night. It doesn't help the program when you have people spouting their mouth off before the team has earned it. I like the schedule BB has played so far, it was exactly what they needed a cupcake schedule. Get a little confidence and you never know what can happen, but it wont be this year and probably not next either.

 

For the bolded part I think you should have included Ludlow. Considering Bellevue and Ludlow have been basically on the same level for the last 6 years since Ludlow's long losing streak at the beginning of the decade. Both teams have won 3 games each over the last 6 years.

 

I do think he was jumping the gun saying that they will be like NCC eventually to Beechwood. However I could see them eventually being like Holy Cross, and end up being a very good program but not great.Thats definitely being to hopeful saying you will be up there with Beechwood a team who basically wins the state title every year. Just catch up with the rest of the district first, and that would be a good thing. I mean still haven't won a district game or even really been that close. Even this game against Ludlow wasn't that close after the first quarter. The score could have been an even bigger margin, if it wasn't for a few Ludlow mistakes. So Brossart needs to catch up with teams like Ludlow and Bellevue, and actually playing close and beating them. Before we hear talks about them playing with the Beechwoods. As Papa said I think Bellevue could really name the score on this one.

At the beginning of the year I'd have been one who would have raised a cynical eyebrow at anyone who said that Brossart would score 14 points in a district game. No way I would have thought that they would be undefeated after three games, and no way I thought they'd beat Ludlow, much less play with them. What they've done to this point is impressive, and given the fact that they have no real geographic boundaries to contend with when bringing in players, I think Brossart will be a 1A team to be contended with a lot sooner than people might think.

Fishhead, after looking back on our last couple of post, instead of agreeing to disagree we are actually disagreeing that we agree. For the most part! You just jumped over the district opponents and went straight to the top. When Brossart and Walton become the teams I think both have the potential to become this will once again be the best class A district in the State.

Bellevue will win this game easily. I look for a similar performance from Bellevue this week as last week. Brossart doesn't have a chance in this one.
