Wrestling?

Featured Replies

I go to Youtube from time to time and watch old matches of Jerry Lawler, When he was actuallly did wrestle and Bill Dundee, Austin Idol Good stuff back then.

I watch it with my buddies when the PPV's come on. We also go to every show that comes to town.

WWE needs to lose about 5 PPV's and make them special again.

Oh, and did anyone see Dwayne Johnson interview on Smackdown last week?

:lol::lol:My 12 year old son is obsessed with that junk! He even has his younger sisters watching it. They are so into it and it drives me nuts. My 10 year old daughter has even flashed a "U Can't See Me" on the soccer field!:ohbrother::lol:

I feel your pain. My 11 yr old son LOVES the WWE. It is definitely an obsession. I was so thankful he bought Madden for his PSP because he has finally taken a liking to football and let the wrestling slide a bit.

Can somebody give me a brief rundown on what the deal is with Jeff Hardy currently. I know he is not wrestling, but I'm not sure what is behind it. I heard he was arrested again. Is that the deal.

Hardy is my son's favorite and we have been discussing the fallacy of holding your hero's too high regard because of the eventual letdown. He gets it, but I want all the facts about this so we can really talk about it.

He said he thought Jeff was arrested, but I think he is in denial about it and he thinks it is something ochestrated by WWE (which is possible I guess given the nature of the show).

Thanks in advance.

Jeff was arrested

It looks like Jeff was arrested in September for pills and steriods. I'm not sure if charges have been filed or not.

However, this is not why Jeff was leaving the WWE.

Jeff wanted time off and Vince told him no. Jeff told Vince he was going to let his contract run out and do what he wanted and Vince didn't buy his bluff. Jeff wasn't bluffing, Jeff left WWE under his own will, this happens all of the time. As long as Jeff isn't in crazy legal trouble because of that arrest I expect him back in no more than a year.

During a search of Hardy's house, Moore County (N.C.) officers say they located and seized approximately 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine, and items of drug paraphernalia.

Hardy could be charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thanks PMIC.

I want to be able to discuss this with my son, but I want to do it in a way that will let him draw his own conclusions.

Hopefully he will use this and learn something from it about choosing your heros wisely and not placing false expectations on them.

They still wrestle? Hmm, how quaint.

More and more I'm realizing that wrestling died when ECW folded. That was the beginning of a long decline until we're now in the kid friendly WWE era, which is almost like a complete circle to how it used to be.

Just let your son know that the wrestler is different than the person outside of the profession. Jeff is my favorite wrestler, but I don't know that I'd want younger kids to really look up to him.
