CovCath has been notified that the CovCath vs. Beechwood JV game that was to be played on Monday @ Beechwood 6pm has been canceled by Beechwood!

 

I have no idea why!

My guess is injuries. Primarily, I don't think Beechwood has a healthy QB to play JV. There were 7 or 8 JV guys that did not dress for the varsity game due to injuries including the JV QB and one of his backups. They could bring M. Colosimo down but I believe he is having shoulder problems. The freshman team's QB is only an 8th grader so no way you can bring him up. So that would be my guess. Maybe they could reschedule the game later in the season as Beechwood has 2 more games scheduled against Dixie and a second game against Highlands. Maybe they could slide CCH into one of those dates, especially one of the Dixie dates.

I just received a PM from someone that said they can't. So even if Beechwood thought the 8th grade freshman QB could handle it, they couldn't bring him up to JV. That is assuming JV is included in the rules against 8th graders playing high school football.

Eighth graders can play JV, as long as there are no juniors on the field, they are not permitted to play against juniors or seniors.

Thanks for the clarification RAM. Clyde is right, there are juniors playing JV for both Beechwood and CCH.

I couldn't find the junior exception. People often use it, but I have never been able to find it.

Going out on a limb here and saying because they don't have the kids and they don't want to be embarrassed. There is no way Beechwood can stay with CovCath. They already showed them they can't on the Varsity level so why in the world do they think they could on JV. Maybe next year.
