I agree. This score is a little closer than I expected. Nice start to the Jumpers season 5-0.

Estill could sneak up and win that district the Breathitt is playing.

Estill County ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. Somerset shook off a couple of bad series on offense early to lead 21-7 at the half. The Briar Jumpers scored again in the 3rd to take a 27-7 lead. The Engineers scored with 22 seconds to go to set the final margin.

 

Somerset was a little out of synch on offense all night. They dropped a wide open touchdown pass in the first quarter and had another called back on a questionable offensive pass interference call. Estill County tried to pass a couple of times but after almost getting a couple picked off seemed to content to run the play clock down and grind it out in their double wing. Estill played a pretty good game and seem to be improving. Somerset didn't have a very good game offensively but their defense played well and weren't really threatened. The main thing is the Briar Jumpers got out of the game without any injuries and improved to 5-0 on the road.

Great defensive win for the jumpers. it was ugly but a win is a win!!!!

Bottom line is 5-0 and getting into district next week. Hard hitting D tonight Jumpers!!!!

Both injuries were from previous games, #24 has had a bum ankle all year, and #15 bruised his AC Joint in the first pre-season scrimmage, they'll be fine.
