2010 Tenth Regional Tourney--Mason County

Featured Replies

I guess if your a Mongomery County or Mason County fan it would be good, but playing a Regional game on someone's home court is not ideal or really fair.

Right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you lord the 10th is back to its HOME and lets mount a campaign amongest "real" tenth region fans to keep it there! Let Montgomery go to the 16th or 1st region or set up shop in West Virginia for all I care and leave the NKU experiment just that an experiment! Mason county and the Fieldhouse are the only places for the 10th region tourney! And when I say "real" tenth region fans I mean those in Mason, Bracken, Robertson, Pendleton, Harrison counties for which these are the people who have supported this tournament for years and made it the envy of the state of Kentucky!

So since I don't live in Mason, Bracken, Robertson, Pendleton, Harrison counties then I guess I don't enjoy watching my team play in a compettitive region year in and year out! Wow I'm glad somebody informed me that I'm not a "real" fan! Since I am not a "real" fan I'm not sure they will even let me in the Fieldhouse, are they going to be checking ID's at the door to determine if we are "real" fans because of where we live???

I'm from Pendleton County, and I'm glad Mason County doesn't have home court advantage every year. I do like the Field House. I don't like always being the visiting team there, even if they score board says home.

You know what they say, you get what you pay for :D I need a smiley where he's throwing gas on a fire..

Yeah I will agree that watching my wife hide crackers in a tampon box so that the idiot ushers wouldn't take them away from a baby was totally worth paying the price of admission for. NOT! But boy did it increase her creativity.

Welcome home 10th regional tournament!!

Computer posted twice! :(

I'm not from Mason Co, Clark Co , Montgomery Co, but this will give Mason Co a 10 point advantage playing on their home court.

I like the 10th region tourney at Mason. It is treated royally by Fred and his crew.

I have not been to the tourney at Montgomery, but I'm sure they do a great job also. The Rison boys are first class also.

I do not like it at a college venue. Let NKU host events throughout the year. It is a neat place to play. But IMO keep the regional tourney at the High Schools.

I never thought it gave Mason Co a 10 point advantage. They are tough to beat on any floor anywhere.

Mason Co has a great facility and it's only 12 minutes from where I live but still seems a bit unfair, especially when they're considered one of the the favorites to start with.

So if Mason was not a perennial favorite, then you would be ok with The Fieldhouse as a 10th Region Tournament site?

I do not mind the tournament being rotated between Mason and Montgomery or any other 10th Region school that wants to build an adequate facility. My only problem was with the Bank of Kentucky Center. I felt the 10th Region was treated like nothing more than a weak opening act to the 9th Region main event.

Mason Co will always be the favorite in 8 out of 10 years in all sports in the 10th region. They have an excellent program at the Y for the very young, have excellent grade, middle and high school coaches, get a lot of quality players from other places and have great fan support and the administration make sports a priority and on top of that they get the regional tournament held at their place. Most teams play better at home than away (common sense) and this also gives them greater local fan support. That's the way it is!!!

I agree. :thumb:

It really doesn't matter where the region is played at.

The best team has won the last two years.

On that day...

On that day...

Which is exactly what a tournament is supposed to produce.:thumb:

I just would of loved to see these two teams play with every person on each time as healthy as they can be.
