They both hyperventilated and questioned authorities and ACORN as to why nothing is happening in regards to a lady who works for ACORN and joked on a tape that she killed her husband. Journalism 101 would tell you to do what? Say it with me. Verify. They both ran with it without doing the J101 thing and now the fact comes out that the lady was joking and said husband is still alive and kicking. In other words, they will throw as much ACORN stuff on the wall and live with what sticks.

September 18, 200917 yr Author Bertha still hasn't come out with any evidence of the tape being doctored. The only thing I heard her say today is that they didn't show all of the tapes where nothing bad happened. I sense some backpedaling.

September 18, 200917 yr Author There's a battle brewing over how widespread this is with ACORN. The two folks who went undercover have stated numerous times that not one ACORN office kicked them out or didn't help them even after they gave their "girls from El Salvador" story. Well, apparently , they are fibbing. The Philly office contacted the police and actually filed a report against them. I'm not sure why they feel the need to lie other than them having a goal to cast every ACORN worker in a negative tawdry light. I'd think they "won" with the videos they actually showed. Disappointing.
September 23, 200917 yr The Defund ACORN Act, if passed and directed only at ACORN could be argued as Unconstitutional. Article I Section 9 forbids the Congress from passing a Bill of Attainder- laws directed against specific individuals or groups. I am not saying that the Defund ACORN Act is Unconstitutional. The Bill of Attainder provision in the Constitution was probably meant to prevent the legislative branch from passing laws against individuals to bypass court rulings, which this does not do, but it may be something that some Constitutional lawyers look into. http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3571/text This Act is written very broadly. There are many other organizations that have recived federal funding, or continue to recive federal funding who may have violated some of the provisions in the Act. For example Boeing, KBR(Haliburton), Lockheed Martin, and Northrup Grumman have either reached settlements or had judgments agianst them in cases that deal specificly with Government Contract Fraud. Will these companies that recive a large amount(Lockheed and Boeing recive billions of dollars a year) be included, or is this just an act directed only at ACORN?
