September 5, 200917 yr The Braves must have given up. Unfortunately there are over 20 games left so the braves will likely remain right on the outside looking in on the wild card race. I personally think they are done tho. I hope they prove me wrong.
September 6, 200917 yr Kip Wells, yes, I said Kip Wells, shuts the Braves for 6 innings, giving up only one hit, and the Reds score 3 in the 6th to beat the Braves 3-1.
September 6, 200917 yr The Braves were positioned well for a run at the wild card, but that's done now. The Marlins losses on the road to split that series were one thing. Adding two more losses to the Reds at home is another.
September 6, 200917 yr Like I said before, I think they are throwing in the towel. Unless they win 20 straight it's over lol. And they are not winning 20 straight.
September 6, 200917 yr I'm just going to quit watching this mess. I give up. They are done. I hope I'm wrong...but I am most likely not. The Braves choked. They had every opportunity to be a playoff team and they blew it.
September 6, 200917 yr Author They just aren't ready..They struggled a lot to begin the year made a push from July to September but could never really get over the hump.
September 6, 200917 yr Hopefully they will re-sign LaRoche in the off season and hopefully keep Hudson as well. McLouth - CF Diaz/Heyward - RF Chipper - 3B Escobar - SS Prado/Infante - 2B LaRoche - 1B McCann - C That's not a bad lineup, especially if they could get someone with a little power to play left field. It would have been nice if they would have spent some money and brought Dunn in this year instead of Kawakami.
September 6, 200917 yr Author Holliday, and Bay will both be free agents this offseason. Hopefully the Braves will at least show interest in them.. On a side note, last year the Braves were so close/sure they had a trade with the Pirates for Jason Bay that there were already jersey's made with Bay's name and number on them. Something fell through at the last second.
