I would have to agree. No matter how down either X or Trinity is, they're always in a league of their own. I'll say Trinity by 3TDs at least.

 

Thats just the thing. This game should be very telling for how down Trinity is. LN was a .500 team last year and struggled to score in their opening week this year. Manual appears to be a well rounded team. The jury may be able to reach more of a verdict this week on the Rocks.

At the HS level I have found if you are playing your second game, and you are playing a team in their season opener, you have a very profound advantage. More at this level than any other.

Your logic make sense and I agree. I think the Rocks are fortunate they didn't schdule Harding or Centergrove but last week is in the past. As history has shown the Rocks get better as the season goes on I just don't know how "down" they truely are. I don't get to see them play much just shocked by the LN game. The words down or rebuilding just doesn't sound right in the same sentence as Trinity.

Yes it was 03 and before that it was in 98 when we played Elder and Cinn X in back to back games like this year. Also happened in the 95 season when we went 5-6 and prior to that in 94 we lost back to back games went 11-4 and won State against Boone. Prior to that you have to go all of the way back to the 81 season when we lost to Ballard and X in back to back games. Not to bad raelly! As I stated in an earlier post I think we will be fine come playoff time but just not as good as has been the case the past several years.

Yes old ground Chuck was my coach, but it was long enough ago that I had him when he was on the Defensive side of the ball. Still one of my favorite coaches and to your point he was a great back for the Rocks.

I remember both seasons quite well, but I don't know if the talent level is congruent with those seasons.

 

I can't help but worry that this will be like 2004 unless someone on this squad steps up and takes charge. I think it can be done, the first half of the LN game we looked like Trinity. Second half we looked like some other team that happened to be wearing Trinity uniforms.

Good assessment. BEt it was an interesting week of practice. It's all about learning and adjustments. Also will be good to see how WE deal with a little bit of adversity - such as last week's loss.
