5wide Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Off the top of my head... Patriots Steelers Titans Chargers Eagles Vikings Falcons Cardinals MVP: Tom Brady Def. POY: DeMarcus Ware ROY: Aaron Curry, Knowshon Moreno Super Bowl: Patriots def. Eagles
halfback20 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 People laughed at me last year when I predicted the Giants to win the NFC East...and they went 12-4. If Burress hadn't shot himself in the leg we might have seen another run through the playoffs for the G-Men. They got a better shot than the Redskins. :jump:

Westbrook will not be as good this year IMO...and their defense could struggle without Dawkins.

Godot Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 They got a better shot than the Redskins. I hear that, I'll be happy if they make the playoffs and win a game.

Steve Smith as a #1??? I agree, I think the Eagles will be down too. That is why I think the Cowboys take the division. It will be very tight, but I think they are a step ahead in the east.
5wide Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 If the offensive linemen in Philly play up to their potential and mesh as a unit, they'll be the best team in the NFC. If Jason Peters plays like he did in 2008 and they can't develop the cohesion needed from an o-line, they'll underperform. The 5 grunts will determine Philly's fate. I'm guessing they deliver the goods.

It will be very tight, but I think they are a step ahead in the east. I'm not saying without Burress they couldn't win. I'm saying with Burress they would have had a much better shot at winning. There is a big difference in losing a key player mid season and starting a new season without him. Hixon and Smith were forced to play more immediately. Now they have both had that experience, along with an entire offense to practice with their QB and learn and become better players. Do I think they will dominate? I'm not sure. But I think they'll be better than they were last year. Domenik Hixon will probably start for Burress. He's a different kind of player than Burress. In a limited role last year he showed flashes that he could be very good. A long with Hixon the Giants have Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss, Hakeem Nicks, Ramses Barden, and David Tyree. Not to mention Kevin Boss at TE who has been getting better and better.
