I wished them well earlier but you are about to make me wish I had not.

 

Your posts have to be the most naive claims to make.

 

A cursory look at scores tells me all I need to know.

I guess that Boyd and Minnifield had nothing to do with those scores?

Can't recall the athletes on that team but it doesn't look like they were held down too much.

I have a lot of respect for what Hilton does at Bell County. I'll let the facts speak to the rest.

 

Scores don’t always tell the story my friend. If I'm not mistaken, I could be but don’t think I am, Boyd didn’t even have a reception against Bell on Log Mountain. Minnifield was basically a non factor until he was moved to QB in the third and I'm not sure Winston Guy ever even scored on Bell, he had a few plays here and there, the kickoff return being the biggest. More recently, against Boyle County last year, no disrespect intended, but Rees Macshara, a very good football player, was held in check, as was now UK player Jordan Aumiller. In my original post the point I was trying to get across to Mr. Switzer was that if he expects for Alcoa to come up and blow Bell County out of the water on Log Mountain just because they have a history of D-1 players, or have a few on their roster this year and some exceptional athletes, he's sadly mistaken. I promise you, this team knows what players have the potential of hurting them on the scoreboard and are most definitely going to bring their best game to those players. It should be a good one, just two days away!!!

I think you're right and if my memory serves me correct, it was a freshman, all the way on the other side of the field that ran him down and made the stop. Guy is an awesome athlete but sometimes "heart" makes the difference. Sorry to get off the thread. Back to BC and Alcoa.:ylsuper:

Are you serious? You have said that like 3 times in the past 5 post and right after that you keep saying stick to the game. KNBA29 ask a question, I responded with a good answer, he said has anyone of those players mentioned had a good game against Bell. To the best of my knowledge, Lexington Catholic would not have scored had he not returned a kick 97 yards, that was pretty successful IMO. It is ridiculous how much some of you Bell County fans are denying that there have been some good players hurt you and you can do some hurting without scoring. Let it go already, if I wanted to waste a lot of time I could come up with a lot of single performances that hurt Bell County.

 

In 97 when Bell played CovCath Coach Hilton was winning a state championship at Bourbon Co.

I know no disrespect is intended, but Rees fumbled twice, I don't think "held in check" was the case as was "extremely great forced fumbles" by the Bell County defense. Again, yes, he fumbled twice, but other than that, Rees looked like Rees. One of those fumbles came on the 1 inch line after a long run by Rees. All I am saying, or trying to say, is I wouldn't use the words "held in check" and Rees in the same sentence. :thumb:

 

 

Also, while Aumiller was a great player for Boyle County throughout his high school career and will hopefully turn into a great player for UK, he was used in the Bell County game the same way he was used throughout the year. He had a good game against Bell County on both sides of the ball, but we didn't throw the ball to him any more or any less than we threw the ball to him all year. To say he was held in check when he was never a focal point of our offense at any time last year, is a false statement. We had 4 very good receivers to spread the ball around to. By no means was Aumiller the only receiver getting passes. I think it'd be a different statement if he was actually going to UK as a receiver. He is currently a linebacker.

 

I think in the case of the Boyle County game, IMO of course, is to say that Phillip Mason was held in check(4 int's and the defense made great plays-2 Rees fumbles). That was easily Phillip's worst game last year and I still feel for him knowing his high school football career ended that way.

What kind of respect isn't Bell County getting this year? I've heard nothing but praise for this team from fans all over the commonwealth. Just because they are not being picked to win this game by the majority of the people voting doesn't show disrespect, it shows that Bell County is simply the under dog, that happens sometimes when you play teams that are good.
